COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.
2013 vintage: 10.9% abv, 58 IBU

12-oz., capped and foiled. Thanks, A! Pours jet black with a dense and creamy tan head. Big sweet vanilla, chocolate, and apricot nose. Sticky thick body. Solid carb. Roasty thick graham crackers and chocolate on the mid palate. Long earthy finish. Very nice.

bottle pour to snifter..pretty black as expected small mocha tan head..nose is spot on with the bourbon taking the lead..some chocolate and vaniila bean in the equation..mouthfeel is interesting sip at first is smooth and surprisingly lighter than anticipated..however the warmth and booze does make itself known on the linger with an overall nice coating of the palate with bourbon..slight heat and some vanilla..overall pretty enjoyable offering...nice nitecap of a beer...

Expectation: I have mixed feelings about the BBA version of a beer I love.
Motivation: regular Siberian Night was one of the first Impy Stouts I liked, along with Bell’s Expedition, that really turned me on to the style. Curious to see what adding bourbon and wood will do to it.
Hardware: 12oz bottle of the 2013 vintage into La Sniferette
Nose: strong wood, bourbon, roast, vinous, metallic and slightly sour
sip: slightly boozy and vanilla that gets milkier as it goes
Taste: dark roast bitterness
Misc: fairly smooth with a pronounced bourbon finish
Conclusion: dangerously easy to drink with complex flavors.

Pours jet black out of bottle. Aroma is malt, chocolate, coffee and some bourbon. Taste is strong chocolate, espresso and vanilla. Not much bourbon in the taste. Creamy mouthfeel. Delicious. Wish there was more bourbon in the taste.

pitch black pour, thin tan foam, aroma of coffee, bittersweet chocolate, and candied cherries. Flavors similar to aroma - creamy, slight effervescence, with a cola finish that lingers.

12 oz bottle purchased at Capone’s. Pours an opaque deep black. Head and lacing are minimal. Aroma is massive bourbon and chocolate malt. Flavor is milk chocolate, bourbon and Irish car bombs. Medium to full bodied, and delicious.

UPDATED: JUN 20, 2014 Served alongside the standard Siberian Night. The beer is opaque and near black with a thin beige cap. Sparse lacing. The aroma offers bourbon, oak, roast, malt, char. The base beer is definitely recognizable throughout, and not overrun by the barrel character. Milk chocolates and bourbon. Mild sweetness and seriously delicious. Outstanding.

Bottle. Pours black with tan head. Aroma is very complex, vanilla, chocolate, hazelnuts, a bit roasty. Taste is rich, great carbonation, nitty, dry. Really Delish!
