COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.

At Gingerman NYC with Taylor. Pours black with very minimal head. Aroma is fresh barrel, muted roasted malt, with slight booze. Taste is a burst of various flavors. I really like this, it is interesting and complex. Nice oaky barrel, boozy bourbon that melds with the beer and does not overpower it, dark/burnt roasted malt notes that meld with the barrel and booze in a complex way, there is a slight light malt reach barley note in there too, finish is marshmallow barrel chocolate snooze that stays strong for a long time and final ends with nice booze and charred notes. Fantastic, and completely unexpected.

Pours and inky black with a khaki head. Strong barley noise with chocolate and coffee notes. Flavors of roasted barley, chocolate and espresso with the barrel adding coming in on the backside, not overwhelmingly strong bourbon flavor, just a hint. Very good beer, find it and try it!

Black.... tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is boozy and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, burnt barley, malts, and licorice. Bourbon definitely comes through. Smooth and good. Less harsh than some big stouts. Overall enjoyable.

In draft at Trio in Kill Devil Hills NC. Pours black with a tan head. Smoky nose. Flavors of chocolate and licorice quickly overwhelmed by a sharp booziness.

Bottle from a trade. Poured into a snifter. Nose is chocolate and booze. Taste is initially booze then reveals a ton of chocolate. Moderate bitterness. Slightly sweet but isnít cloying. More chocolate in every sip. overall a very solid beer, and besides the aroma and initial taste, the booze is well hidden, isnít hot. well done.

Fair aroma of bourbon, lots of dark fruits, caramel, light burnt aroma, dark chocolate, vanilla... touch of bourbon up front, dark fruits, perhaps even some berries or cherries, light chocolate and vanilla flavor is present. Finish is a touch fruity, body is surprisingly thin for the style. This is good, but i dont rank this with the best barrel aged stouts ive had....

Nice toasted coconut aromas, beautiful head, but which recedes rather quickly. Flavor: bourbon very present, but not much burn from it. Very nice. Dark bitter chocolate late on the palate. Definitely needs to be served at its recommended temp. Would like a little more refined mouthfeel; the bourbon is thinning to the mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a deep burnt umber with a two fingers of khaki foam... this beer is very inviting with roasted peanuts, milk chocolate, light roast character and some hints of taffy, cocoa dust, vanilla bean, cake batter and a touch of boozy heat lingers. Tasty !

Buckeyeboy provided this 12oz bottle tonight at a random Tuesday tasting. Pours pitch black with a coating thickness... dark brown head leaves good lacing. Nose has pretty good barrel presence, but seems pretty ashy. Vanilla and hints of cocoa are hammered pretty heavy by an acrid dark malt presence. Flavor is a little better... slightly more sweetness helps tie the barrel and dark maltiness together... but it falls pretty flat on the finish and a lingering ashy/burnt malt profile just hangs and hangs. Body is lighter than expected... carbonation is pretty proper. Thanks again Jeremy!!

Small bottle shared with the boys. Aroma is heavy oak barrel, bourbon, cocoa, dark chocolate and vanilla. Pours deep black with a very small brown film. Great vanilla, bourbon, oak and cocoa taste. Roasty mouthfeel and not too sticky. Just a great stout. Would gladly pound one of these things myself.
