COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.

12 oz bottle, thanks to fletchfighters! This hadnít been on my radar at all, but Iím glad it found its way to me. Appearance: nice-looking -- dark, with some red/brown around the edges with tan head. Aroma: whoa milk chocolate! Reminds me a little of Vietnamese Speedway in that regard. Smells like creamy, milk chocolate, but beyond that I have a hard time picking out much aside from vanilla. Taste: ah, thereís the coffee -- bitter coffee, some ash, vanilla, roast, slightly astringent, but overall pretty nice. Texture is a shade thin. Some warming alcohol. Overall: enjoyed this one quite a bit -- an unexpected treat!

UPDATED: JAN 10, 2014 Bottle at Prufrockís place.

This is one good-looking beer. Pitch black with a beautiful, ample but finely structured head. Ashy aroma, nice mellow vanilla oak, not too boozy. Dark cocoa dominates; blackberry underneath (pleased to see that I used the same descriptor on the regular SNIS), mellow bourbon. Smooth creamy mouthfeel, basically no heat. Relatively fresh as this bottle may be, this beer is drinking nice right now. Iím pleased to have had the chance to try this one.

First off, the price on this was a bit steep. $25 a four pack? Sheesh. The appearance was perfect, a finger inch of dark brown head over a black pour with intricate lacing. The cent was a little vanilla cream on a boozy bourbon. Thick but smooth feel. The flavor kicked off bourbon to a creamy roasted coffee and hint of vanilla, back to a boozy bourbon finish. Overall, delicious. Just too expensive. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks Phil. Bottle. Black pour with tan head with a very slick viscosity. Bourbon and some chocolate and coffee undertones. Flavors range from sweet chocolate and vanilla to roasted malts to coffee and bourbon.

Got a pair of these from my brother for christmas, opened one last night, ad wasnt feeling it. I really wasnt getting much bourbon bunch of vanilla and oak mixed with an mediocre stout. wasnt impressed. I got tired and poured the remaining back into the bottle, only poured half in the first place put a wine stopped in and went to bed.

Opened it up today and its a completely different beer, bourbon chocolate and coffee, on the flat side today but the taste is pretty good. Not sure if I could compare it to the regular one the bourbon changes the beer, but i remember that one being a very overrated decent imperial stout. this is a fairly underrated decent bourbon stout.

12oz bottle pours near black with a finger of tan head. Nose is big fruity bourbon, licorice, roasty bitter chocolate. Taste is strong bourbon, dark fruits, ashy, roasty, cream. Finish is boozy roast malt and creamy ash, fruity bourbon. Very nice.

12 oz bottle. Shared in line for the 4 Elf Party. The pour isnít overly black like Iíd expect. More of a dark dark brown. There is a thinner dark head that fades quickly, leaving no lace. The aroma is mostly roasted malt with some chocolate, dark fruit, licorice, and vanilla. There is a moderate bourbon presence, and itís not overly bad. The flavor is just how the aroma smells. Light chocolate, good quantities of licorice and vanilla, and there is a hearty burn from the bourbon. Not overly great, and in fact, I prefer the regular one over the bourbon barrel aged one

Enjoyed at the Thirsty Dog tasting room on draft. Snifter. Big, black pour with a tan head that lasted for only 30 seconds. No lacing. Bold aroma with dark chocolate, mild coffee, cocoa nibs, bourbon barrel oak, vanilla, and roasted malts. The taste was heavy roasted malts, bourbon barrel (but not overly booze), charred oak, slight smoke, vanilla and a hint of spices. Full body, mild oily, Finish is bourbon and oak with vanilla. Very very good.
