Draft at Craft. Pours jet, thick, with a finger of clingy tan brown head. Nose is a huge, rich, complex mix of cacao, port, oaky bourbon, blackberry, dark malt. If your nose score isn;t 8 or above here you may as well retire from beer rating. The flavor is rich, complex, and intense; a (Rebecca) Medley of upfront dark malt, cacao, with mid-palate blackberry, huge oaky bourbon, vanilla, and cognac, and smooth, delicious finish with the beer/spirit boundary line being broken and craved, as I chugged the last 4 ounces of this, and would have stayed for a lot more had I not been driving. This one is a true SN offshoot, a true child of the regular parent, and a delicious beer. One of the best beers I have ever had. This just might be the best bourbon-barrel aged beer I have yet quaffed, which doesnít surprise me, because when you take perfection and barrel age it, you end up with a more spirited perfection. Put that quote in the next version of the bible.

Kaaaablawhaaa. This imperial stout does it all right. Massive chocolate aroma with pleasant vanilla and whiskey notes. Check. Opaque black thick body with 2 fingers of dark brown head. Check. Smooth balance that blends sweet chocolate with light burnt malt bitterness. Check. A high alcohol content that remains partially hidden, and never fusel. Check. Bring more. Quickly.

Like any good stout, dark... very dark. Wonderful flavors of bourbon, coffee, and chocolate flow through greatly enhancing a very good stout. Most BBL aged stouts and porters are improvements over the non-BBL aged beer, and this is no exception - in fact, one of the most effective and delicious examples Iíve had to date.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured thick, black and oily with a medium sized creamy dark brown head that left good lacing. The aroma was sweet red wine, amazingly strong coconut, vanilla, toasty malts, chocolate and more toasted coconut - a lot like an Almond Joy candy bar. The flavor was sweet toasted coconut, chocolate, tobacco, vanilla and an undertone of port wine and sour dark fruits. Long chocolate and toasted caramel finish. Full bodied and smooth. The alcohol was well concealed. Marvelous.

It was very mellow as others have pointed out how "fresh and hot" it was. Pours a typical obsidian color with a thin tan head. Nose is vanilla, wood, coffee, very mild booze, chocolate, and roasted malts. Flavor is similar- starts with coffee, chocolate and vanilla. Further looking gives off some wood and roast. Finish is mild vanilla and wood. Very nice, very balanced BA Imp stout.

#2000 Draft at Sergioís. Black with a creamy brown head. Scent is coffee, boubon and chocolate. Taste is Amazing! Dark bitter chocolate, coffee with notes of vanilla and oak. Fantastic stout!

This pours opaque black with a light tan head that leaves a tiny ring of suds. The nose is of deeply toasted, sweet caramel and light roasts. Flavors follow suit, with smoked toffee, toasty caramel, bourbon-soaked figs and dates, chocolate and vanilla candies, oak-infused molasses and subtle dark maple syrup. The finish continues with smoky sweetness, complemented by roasted dark-cherry caramels, introducing just a hint of peppering alcohol. This aged offering has a full body with an oily, semi-sticky mouthfeel, integrating soft carbonation to make the quaff so very smooth! This is extremely comforting and complex, taking one of the most respected brews Iíve had and kicking it up a notch! Thick, gorgeous and beautiful, this is superbly second-to-none!!

Had at capons event with james, Dallas and andrew. Pour is dark dark brown. Nice lace. Aroma is sweet malts and dark Pomegranate. Flavor is sweet malts and ton of chocolate.

The barrel aged version of this is very nice. The aging brings about some fantastic Vanilla qualities to the espresso chocolate qualities to this Imperial Stout. The barrel agin also in my opinion mellows this beer nicely. It adds just the right amount of Whiskey nuances without going overboard. Truly these qualities enhance an already fantastic beer adding complexity that is enjoyable and memorable.

This one poured a very dark brown to black with a tan head. Aroma was big bourbon, fudge, light smoke, and vanilla. Flavor is similar, but not as big on the bourbon, very well rounded combo of a great impy and ba qualities . Not closing at all and even at 11% i could easily have a few of these.
