COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.

Bottle from the Lager Locker in Frankenmuth- midnight black with no head bourbon. So smooth and good. What else is there to say.

Bottle. Jet black with a 1 finger mocha head. Intensely roasty with nice coffee flavors. Some oak, vanilla, dark fruit and chocolate support. Barrel character is subdued which really lets the base beer shine through. Rich sticky mouthfeel. Really excellent.

Maakun (3088) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - SEP 11, 2015
Bottle at THT. Black with velvety dark beige head. Massive bourbon, vanilla, sweet chocolate dessert, light berries, strawberry jam, soft toffee notes with molten brown sugar. Sweet with light berry tartness and light roasted bitter finish. Full bodied with creamy feel and soft carbonation. Very nice.

PorterPounder (7054) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - DEC 25, 2015
Tallahassee, Florida - ABC Fine Wine and Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Deep, dark sable black pour, silky, mocha colored head that leaves a light film of lacing. Aroma has some solid chocolate accents, subtle bourbon accents, a touch of creosote and licorice. Solid barrel-aged flavor, not over-wrought or cloying like some BAs can be. Nice chocolate undertones, some licorice, subtle espresso notes in the finish. Silky smooth mouthful. Very enjoyable way to while away a. Ice Christmas evening.

Gluepot (373) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - MAY 3, 2016
Dark tan head on a near black body. Nose is rich with bourbon, coffee, cream and chocolate. Lots of elements here working in good balance. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, molasses, cream, fudge, vanilla and some rich dark berries, with enough supporting hops. Dense rich body. Top notch dessert IS.

Black pour with brown highlights. No head. Aroma of chocolate, plum, wood, and bourbon. Flavor is mostly chocolate, plum, toffee, and a hint of bourbon on the back end. Great beer!

Poured on draft. Dark inky black with a bead of greyish foam. Not much lacing either. Aroma is a faint whiff of bourbon that bows out to allow for an onslaught of roasty dark chocolate, vanilla, coffee, marshmallows, vanilla, and a bitterness akin to espresso. Taste is boozy sweetness at first sip, but gives way to an earthy sweetness and an espresso-esque bitter finish. Great beer. Again, nice behind the scenes barrel notes are way better in my book than the in your face ones.

Dark black pour with one finger of chestnut brown head. Very nice nose, awesome bourbon/vanilla component with wood and a touch of chocolate. Clean vanilla and warm wood in the flavor. Very very nice.

Growler pours with a nice dark body that supports a thin tan head. The aroma offers up sweetness, dark roasted malts, molasses covered coconut and mild boozy bourbon. The taste is smooth with molasses, dark roasted malts and some smooth bourbon notes. These notes go well together and the beer and barrel balance is spot on creating a fairly rich and enjoyable sipping experience.
