COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.

Small bottle shared with the boys. Aroma is heavy oak barrel, bourbon, cocoa, dark chocolate and vanilla. Pours deep black with a very small brown film. Great vanilla, bourbon, oak and cocoa taste. Roasty mouthfeel and not too sticky. Just a great stout. Would gladly pound one of these things myself.

Pours a deep burnt umber with a two fingers of khaki foam... this beer is very inviting with roasted peanuts, milk chocolate, light roast character and some hints of taffy, cocoa dust, vanilla bean, cake batter and a touch of boozy heat lingers. Tasty !

Black.... tan head, nice lacing. Aroma is boozy and chocolate. Taste is chocolate, burnt barley, malts, and licorice. Bourbon definitely comes through. Smooth and good. Less harsh than some big stouts. Overall enjoyable.

Black pour with a thin tan head. Complex aroma of chocolate, coffee roast malts, vanilla bourbon. Flavor follows the aroma. A complex, well crafted big sipper that puts it all together very well.

12 oz. bottle. Pours black, with a medium foamy, tan head. The nose is assertive, and complex. Notes of chocolate, coconut, oak, peat, vanilla, and sherry. Sweet flavor, with very little burnt bitterness. Very heavy body, creamy, and smooth. This beer impressed me thoroughly. The aromas are layered very well, with the bourbon accenting the stout well, without overwhelming it. Not drinkable, exactly, but sip by sip, it disappeared far too quickly.

On tap at the brewery. Pours pitch black with tan head. Aroma is bourbon, oak, char, vanilla, and espresso. Heavy mouthfeel, yet thinner for most BA stouts Iíve had. Still, it has a velvety texture. Flavor is booze, vanilla bean, espresso, char, chocolate, and finishes with a touch of bourbon that lingers a touch. Solid.

Thanks for sharing the growler Jason! The beer pours to a black body with a creamy dark brown head. The aroma is heavy on oatmeal, vanilla, chocolate, and clean malts. The flavor is oatmeal, chocolate, a light alcohol, vanilla and oaken barrel. The palate is creamy, smooth, medium bodied, and velvety.

Growler. Poured near black with a creamy dark tan head. The aroma picked up sweet, well-roasted coffee, chocolate, and bourbon sugars with toasted oak, coconut, and vanilla accents.. just the slightest bit medicinal, but very good overall. The flavor found burnt dark chocolate with lesser coffee and black patent maltage.. smooth oats rounded out the middle.. well-integrated barrel impression of bourbon, vanilla, and oak.. tangy, slightly-metallic bourbon and dark chocolate on the finish. Medium-bodied and tangy on the palate, with a smooth feel across the middle.. lighter-bodied than expected, but all in all a very tasty brew.

Tried this tonight at the tasting bar with miketd. Pours black with tan head. There is chocolate, bourbon, and a bit of vanilla/oak on the nose. The flavor comes through as dark chocolate, some burnt malts, caramel, and a very restrained yet pleasing amount of bourbon. The mouthfeel is a bit thinner then I expected but still had a nice velvet feel. This is a solid barrel aged beer and I hope Thirsty Dog bottles this soon.
