COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is made with one grain and 4 Belgian yeasts, a deceptive golden color, and a malty palate lend complexity to this Belgian Trippel Ale. ABV = 10%, IBU’s = 31, OG = 23.1 P

The three headed Hellhound of Greek Mythology, that stood at the gates to Hades, lends his name and three heads to this elegant, full bodied Belgian Style Trippel Ale. A deceptive golden color and wonderful malty palate bring bold complexity to this big brew.

Pours a slightly hazy golden amber, one finger of quickly-dissipating head. Smells of fresh banana, coriander, orange peel, flowers, Belgian yeast. But, things go downhill from there... taste, at first, is spicy and peppery; fruity sweet with complimenting toffee and caramel malts. Unfortunately as the beer begins to warm an enormous alcohol flavor comes out, masking and overpowering the rest of the flavors. Thin-medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth; not an enjoyable drink as the other flavors can in no way stand up to the alcohol.

Bottle. Nose is a little weird, grassy with faint citrus and stronger yeast. Just a hint of golden sunshine, and a little over-sweet, but otherwise, not much going on in the ways of olfaction. Golden pour with a short white head. Taste is much more to style - citrus and honey, big pale malt with tiny rounding phenols, gooey and slurpy with a big kick of alcohol (but smooth). Strong vanilla and yeast, less pepper and spice. Heavy full body, lots of malt there. Doesn’t have the Puckish flair of the best in the style, but gods help me if there ever comes a day I don’t want to down six of these.

12oz traded bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange-brown color with a small white head. No lacing. Sweet tangerine-like aroma with Belgian yeast. Really strong flavor with a touch too much sugar and alcohol for me. Okay just not my fave tripel.

Sweet, sugary, slightly spiced aroma. Golden in color. Spicey and very sweet. Slightly watery finish.

Pours golden with a thin mostly receding wispy off-white head. Notes of honey, white grape, champagne, herbal, pepper, yeasty esters. Full bodied, lively carbonation. A bit heavy, but very nice.

Not sure about the ten dog as I don’t see it on the bottle label, but a very nice triple, cloudy honey color, but no head as a draw back. Classsic Belgian yeast fruity flavors , astringent, and modestly alcoholic.

12 ounce bottle from Brusin Ales, opened 9/23/10. Pours a mostly clear amber color with fine floating particles. Medium sized offwhite aroma with fair head retention and lacing. Aroma of bread, clove, caramel and faint nutty notes. The taste is bread, caramel, apple, spices including cinnamon and clove and a faint leafy hoppiness. Medium bodied. Decent.

Bottle share with Andrew56. Disappointing brew. Low carbonation which is good. High fruity alcohol taste which is bad. It poured a fairly rich golden color with strong hay and citrus in the nose. This brew missed the mark.

355ml bottle from a trade with zenwolf. pours clear yellow with a minimal white head. almost no carbonation. terrible triple, bordering on malt liquor. triples have to be bottle conditioned and well carbonated to work. filter and force carb and you end up with a flabby malt liqour.

Pours a murky orange body with a thin but lasting white head. Flavor is tart apples dominated by spicy yeast and an alcohol bite. Good stuff.
