This beer is made with one grain and 4 Belgian yeasts, a deceptive golden color, and a malty palate lend complexity to this Belgian Trippel Ale. ABV = 10%, IBUís = 31, OG = 23.1 P

The three headed Hellhound of Greek Mythology, that stood at the gates to Hades, lends his name and three heads to this elegant, full bodied Belgian Style Trippel Ale. A deceptive golden color and wonderful malty palate bring bold complexity to this big brew.

Bottle shared by bhensonb. Pours golden with a modest beige head and a fruity aroma. There is a fruity spicy flavor with a lots of yeast presence, a little banana and a dry bitter finish. Sure tastes like a Belgian Tripel.

Apr 26, tap @ Thirsty Dog, Akron. Pours clear golden with a nice white head leaving some lace. Has a great sweet fruity aroma as also the flavor with grapes and raisins as well. Fullbodied, nice round sweet palate. Finishes with a pleasant sweet tart touch.

The tripel pours amber with an orange hue and white head. The aroma is sweet, vanilla, and a bit of fruity syrup and caramel. The flavor is a big triple yeasty body, not much spice, but more vanilla and sweet notes overall on a medium body.

Pours orange, cloudy with a foamy white head, good lacing. Aroma is citrusy, bread, cheese, light alcohol. Slightly bitter, mostly sweet, kinda sour. Medium bodied, thin, soft carbonation, bitter finish.

Hmm this is okay. Very sweet taste, must be the malt some other people are talking about. honestly, I like the tin foil over the cap. I donít know if I would knowingly get another of these. Arkon though? Thatís nice.

12 oz. pours yellow with an orange tinge thin white head. This smells amazing like pear, banana, clove, hay and a slight caramel sweetness. The taste is pear, caramel, spices, alcohol and a nice creaminess. This medium bodied tripel laces my glass nicely has a smooth finish but is not to light. I really enjoyed this one!

The nose on this beer is truly a bouquet. First itís full of orange, then pineapple, then buttery biscuit, grapefruit, straw, and on and on, but not all at once. Thatís what makes this beer stand out, the rapidly changing nose. It lost me with its flavor, which proved to be both sweet and sour, but the sour was more like sour milk, an off taste. It poured a lovely golden orange. Iíd like to try it on tap.

Pours a slightly hazy golden amber, one finger of quickly-dissipating head. Smells of fresh banana, coriander, orange peel, flowers, Belgian yeast. But, things go downhill from there... taste, at first, is spicy and peppery; fruity sweet with complimenting toffee and caramel malts. Unfortunately as the beer begins to warm an enormous alcohol flavor comes out, masking and overpowering the rest of the flavors. Thin-medium body, moderate carbonation, smooth; not an enjoyable drink as the other flavors can in no way stand up to the alcohol.

Bottle. Nose is a little weird, grassy with faint citrus and stronger yeast. Just a hint of golden sunshine, and a little over-sweet, but otherwise, not much going on in the ways of olfaction. Golden pour with a short white head. Taste is much more to style - citrus and honey, big pale malt with tiny rounding phenols, gooey and slurpy with a big kick of alcohol (but smooth). Strong vanilla and yeast, less pepper and spice. Heavy full body, lots of malt there. Doesnít have the Puckish flair of the best in the style, but gods help me if there ever comes a day I donít want to down six of these.

12oz traded bottle. Pours a slightly hazy orange-brown color with a small white head. No lacing. Sweet tangerine-like aroma with Belgian yeast. Really strong flavor with a touch too much sugar and alcohol for me. Okay just not my fave tripel.
