American IPA bursting with citrus aromas and flavors. Youíll find evidence of tangerine, grapefruit, orange and mango in the aroma from the multiple additions of a single hop variety, Citra. There is also a nice malt balance in this bitter, full bodied, doglicious IPA that is a citrus lovers delight.

Pour from a 12oz bottle. Clear orange amber brew with one finger of head. Great aroma of citrus and tropical fruit. Taste is a light but distinct malt at the start transitioning to a great combination of citrus, pine, tropical fruit and other hops flavors. Excellent.

12 ounce bottle
A nice local IPA adds variety to a crowded market. While it might not be the best example of the style its approach provides a new perspective on how to teach an old dog new tricks. I would probably skip this in the future in lieu of something from Hoppiní Frog, TBK, or Fat Heads but it was worth the cost of a single bottle.

Aroma / Appearance - A dense head surges until it overwhelms the shaker. Finally it collapses into a warm mandarin base that glows with life. Resin, orange slices, chocolate dipped citrus peels, and a tickling of malt round out a beer which is surprisingly earthy.

Flavor / Palate - Unfortunately all the promises of excellence fall flat after the first sip. Butterscotch, old orange peels, canned citrus, and a growing malt bill tie down a resiny and bitter IPA. Lacking the punch of other local interpretations it settles for second best. Your mileage may vary; pick one up if you see it on sale.

Thirsty Dog presents: a decent ipa with decent balance. I didnít find this particularity great; I thought the bitterness interfered with the overall composition. Not one of Thirsty Dogís better beers.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a bright golden color with a small, puffy white head. Aroma of tropical and citrus hops, nice citra notes, with a fair amount of malty sweetness. Flavor is tropical fruit, mango, lots of sweet malt. Well-balanced between bitterness and sweetness, trending towards the sweet side. A sweet ipa, which really isnít what Iím into. Full bodied, finishes medium, with moderate lingering bitterness.

Bottle. Copper/orange with a small head. Strong tropical fruit and resin verging on skunky aromas. Sweet tropical fruit with a very bitter bite and a slightly sweet finish.

Bottle thanks to mikem409. Found this one in the back of some other bees hiding. Shoulda drank it sooner. Nose is immediate fruitiness with a touch of dank. Taste is immediately bitter with some tropical fruit hop flavor but its kinda flat. Likely from age. Drying finish with no notes of alcohol. Good beer ---Rated via intercellular device

Pours a hazy pure gold with at thick, foamy eggshell head that sticks around for quite a while and leaves some thick lace. Nose involves dirty citrus rind, earthy, herbal, and floral hop notes, some spiciness, straw and toasted malt. Somewhat sweet, quite bitter, though it didnít feel like 95 IBUs. Active carb, light to medium bodied, a bit grainy, with a lengthy citric bitter finish. Pretty tasty and refreshing.
