American IPA bursting with citrus aromas and flavors. Youíll find evidence of tangerine, grapefruit, orange and mango in the aroma from the multiple additions of a single hop variety, Citra. There is also a nice malt balance in this bitter, full bodied, doglicious IPA that is a citrus lovers delight.

At first this beer threatens to be too light with a thin head and modest aroma. Even the color and body indicate a beer that may fade but it doesnít. It delivers a good hop taste with every sip throughout. The aftertaste can slide a bit skunky but then resolves into a light hop finish. I wonít be disappointed to see this on tap when I go somewhere, especially if there are no top notch IPAs there.

Cloudy amber with a thin head. Lots of floral and fruit in the aroma. The taste has a nice malt sweetness to start with the fruity hops kicking in. The citra has so many flavors, even a single hop has complexity. Dry and refreshing, well done. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Purchased in growler. Lite in color for an IPA. Not much head. Can taste the citrus but it is not overpowering.

Aroma is pine, an undercurrent of bread, mild spiciness and a hint of mustiness. The flavor is complex citrus, fruit, grapefruit, malts and a bitter/tart/tangy finish.

Pours gold with a dense white head. Sweet malt, tropical fruit and citrus aromas. Mango, papaya, grapefruit, and orange flavors. The finish is bitter. Smooth light mouthfeel with a high level of carbonation.

Pours a clear golden color with a good head that fades quickly. The aroma is surprisingly weak, but pleasant with fresh green hops with grapefruit and orange notes. The taste is pleasant: a prominent but not dominant hop bitterness that is well balanced with the malt backbone. There are nice grapefruit notes (and orange, once it warms), but they arenít as aggressive as I would have hoped given the name. Overall, a very solid summertime beer that Iíll get again, but there is nothing particularly unique about it. Itís a bit more pleasant than my ratings indicate, but I expected more from the promise of citra hops indicated in the title and dinged it a bit for that.
