On tap at Bocktown. Blah. Aroma was nice. Slight breadiness with heavy citrus hops and slightly piney. Pour was a murky medium gold with no bubbles or head. Taste was thick and chewy. Caramel malt in the front with a sharp bitter hop bite coming in mid-swallow. Hot hops coat the throat in the aftertaste. Problem with this beer was that it was completely flat. No carbonation whatsoever. That really hurt the flavor score because a little carbonation carries the flavor a long way.

On draught at the Columbus Winking Lizard location, served in a snifter. The beer pours amber-orange with a thin off-white head that dissipates to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malt and hops. Medium to full body with flavors of bready malt, sweet caramel and resiny hops. The finish is hoppy with a bit of spicy alcohol bite and a malty aftertaste. Decent overall.

On tap at Winking Lizard Crosswoods. Clear copper pour with a medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, diacetyl, some caramel and earthy hops. Sweet malt and diacetyl flavor with a spicy and grassy hop finish and a touch of alcohol.

Apr 26, tap @ Thirsty Dog, Akron. Pours hazy amber (out of tank) . Not the typical piny and citric stuff all the others do. English hops and double malts creates a fantastic round malty sweet flavor with a great hoppy bite, so good, so well balanced and fresh. Pallate is very nice almost fullbodied. Finishes with a great longlived bitter tart bite.

Aroma: Bready malts and hints of resin hops. A slight winey aroma, almost like fruit, as well. Appearance: Clear dark orange, almost an amber, with a thin white head that dissipates quickly but leaves lots of lacing. Taste:Medium sweet with hints of sourness in the finish. Palate: Full body, thick, oily texture, soft carbonation (almost flat) with a long finish. Overall: Tasted too winey for me, it was almost sour. Still, drinkable, and not nauseating. I can tell there were clear intentions on the part of the brewers, I’m probably not the right audience for said decisions.
