COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our hoppiest beer! The complex character of American hops and amber colored caramel malts make this beer very crisp and refreshing. Silver Medal winner at the G.A.B.F. 2001.

I had this at Isaac Newton’s in Newtown, PA. I really liked this one despite the watery medium finish. This appeals to my hophead tastebuds with a fruity caramel blast melded with hoppy Earthy tones. Some may think this isn’t very balanced but the lack of cohesion seems to make for an interesting collage of flavors IMHO. The carbonation makes for a nicer mouthfeel despite the watery tones.

Pours amber with a pretty good offwhite head and it laces all the way down the glass. I’m not real sure how this is an amber ale and not an IPA as it tastes much more like an IPA than other pretenders I’ve tried. Beautiful pine citrus hop nose to this one. Fruity yet an amazing malt backbone makes this fantastic to drink. Medium body on the palate but balanced quite well and you even get that nice bitter finish that makes you remember this one. Another very tasty brew from Thirsty Dog. This brewer doesn’t dissappoint!

A nice hazy amber with a 3 finger, pillowy white head that slowly fades. Nice, chunky lacing is left around the glass. Smell is of light caramel, biscuit, along with a decent blast of citrus and pine like hops that seems to meld beautifully with the malt. Taste is even better than the enticing aromas. No overkill of hops but a definite presence that they seemed to nail right on for what they were going for. Mouthfeel is crisp, clean, mildly malty with a fresh amount of hops grazing along the palate. A nice brew.

12oz bottle. Hazy with a ruby garnet hue. Dissipating finger of lacing bone white head. Strong fruity hop aromas. Grapefruit and orange citrus. Slightly floral. Touch of sugary caramel aromas. Medium bodied with a sweet malt flavor. Caramel malts. Strong citrus hop flavors. Bitter in the middle of the palate. Spicy peppery hops. Crisp and satisfying brew. Touch of sugary almost banana yeast note as the glass empties. Well done!

This resembles an APA and even tries to be an IPA, more than an Amber. Very citrusy (grapefruit and lemon) in the aroma, and flavor is hoppy citrus. This has a medium body with good lacing, and a slightly bitter, long-lasting finish. Part of it was the timing...I had this on a warm summer night. Just right!!!

12-3-08. 12 oz bottle. Poured coppery-brown. Head was fluffy and off white. Smelled of pine and citrus. Tasted of pine, grapefruit, nutbread, and pepper. Nice beer.

a very enjoyable amber ale. It smelled of strong hops. The flavor was surprising for the fact that it tasted of hops but was not very bitter at all. I’m not sure how they do it but they took bitterness away while leaving that hop flavor making this a very enjoyable beer to drink.

UPDATED: AUG 11, 2009 bottle poured a reddish amber in color with plenty of sediment in the glass and light carbination. smell is hops, apricot, sweet caramel, orange and lemon peel. taste is hoppy and fruit is right on the tongue, good full mouth feel, somewhat dry, and a slightly bitter aftertaste that is from the hops. this beer is great in my opinion and underrated if i might go out on a limb. have had three of the thirsty dog brews now and all excellent!

Aroma is pineapple, light pine, yeast and malts. The flavor is tropical fruit/pineapple, malts, citrus, grapefruit and a medium bitter/dry finish.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber color with a moderate white head. Nose has a hint of hoppy bitterness to it with caramel malts coming in the forefront. Taste is a little bitter and feels nice and crisp. Good brew.
