| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 1, 2010 Light orange in color with a one-finger off-white head that lingers. Earthy aromas with a slight fruity hopness. Mouthfeel is very carbonated and light to medium bodied. Aftertaste is bitter and grows over the next 30 seconds. Taste is a little thin with a lot of West Coast hops present. This is an ok beer but not one to run out and get. A little too watery for my taste. darn1207 (668), Tallahassee, Florida, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Dec 29, 2009 12 oz. bottle. Thought I had rated this one previously...poured hazy amber with thin off-white head. Sweet caramel flavor with a resiny, bitter finish. Fairly simple but it works. Does seem to get a bit monotonous, becomes almost sickingly sweet. smcolw (389), Wayland, Massachusetts, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2009 Thin head out of the bottle. What little there is leaves a coating of fine bubbles on the glass. Neutral amber color with the faintest of hazes.
Potent initial floral hop smell, but it fades after a short period. Still, it’s attractive.
I’ve always found the American Amber to be relative non-descript. This beer is very good, but it would fit into the pale ale category well. This is hopped aggressively. Very little malt base, even though the full body would suggest otherwise. Overall, this is an above average beer--it is very easy to consume. gottalottaibu (243), charlotte, North Carolina, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Enjoyed via tap in a nonic glass. The beer pours a deep amber with a small and long-lasting white head. A nicely hoppy, if straight-forward, nose of hops comes through in the nose. The palate gives a hop-first combination of one or two combinations (not sure which ones), followed by some malt sweetness. Lacking a touch in body, the palate needs just a bit more sweetness to be truly enjoyable. Overall, good, but a touch insipid, which keeps it short of three stars. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 25, 2009 Hazy orange pour. Aroma of citrus hops, orange peel mostly. Subtle spice. Sweet caramel malt as well. Flavor is a lot less hoppy then I expected, pretty smooth but crisp citrus notes, still the orange peel present. A subtle dry pine finish with just a little sweetness. Pretty enjoyable.
