COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A medium-light body and a freshly-ground caramel malt flavor with no bitterness. The combination of American caramel malt and the finest Kent Goldings hops from England add an inviting "noble" flavor and aroma. IBU 16, OG 13.4 P

Pours a soft and coppery red with two fingers of sandy tan head. Very very interesting aroma and flavor. I get a lot of characters that I expect from a port of madera. Lots of dried dark fruit, prune and raisin. Malt forward for sure with some burnt sugar and dark caramel. Bready notes with some herbal hop notes. A pretty savory beer, enjoyed this one.

Bottle. Fruity caramel malt aroma. Amber with moderate head. Sweet apple/caramel malt and lightly bitter straw flavor. Light buttery finish.

Clear golden amber pour with ring of khaki head. Nose is faintly biscuity. Flavor is caramel malt, toffee, biscuit, and slightly nutty. Very smooth and easy to drink. Id still take a killians over this, but hey, its Suprisingly not bad!

Reviewed from old notes, March of 2012. Sorry for the late upload. This was poured into a pint glass. The appearance was a fine ruddy red color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about less than a minute. Light lacing roamed around the glass. The smell started off with a dry roasty caramel note and then allowed a decent sweet nuttiness to roll underneath my nose. The taste was basically the same. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was definitely there with a basking sharpness but nothing overbearing. There was a light dry caramel aftertaste and finish. Overall, I say this was a decent Irish Red ale I could do again, but Id have to trade for it or get my butt to Ohio to get it, until then...

12 oz bottle from Jungle Jims 2012 notes. Pours a dark orange amber color with a smaller white head. The aroma and flavor have toasted bready malts, light caramel, mild fruit, light earthy bitterness. Nothing bad, but nothing big that stands out either.

Bottled. Reddish brown pour. Whiteish head. Light caramels and a little bit of hops but kind of watery.

Amber pour with a nice red hue. Very nice head and lasting lacing. Nose is of toast, nut and caramel sweet malt. Light bodied with medium carbonation. The flavor profile is a laid back blend of malt flavors that ends up being nicely complex and balanced. Like the nose, toast, nut and caramel float over a slight sweetness. The finish is smooth and at the end, Goldings are detected. A solid red ale.

From a bottle. Pours ruby red with a white head. Good lacing. Aroma is rich caramel malt and popcorn. Flavors are buttery caramel with nutty notes. Mild hop bite with a hint of dark chocolate in the finish. Medium mouthfeel with fairly high carbonation. This ale is not terribly complex. The flavors are very straightforward--malty and nutty. Its not bad at all. In fact, I rather like this ale. But it falls short of being truly great.

Pours a reddish copper with a medium white head. It has a sweet sugar aroma with a hints of roast hops. It has a medium sweetness with a hint of bitter. The body is medium with a thin texture. Im not a fan of Irish ales but this is a very drinkable beer at 5.9% ABV, and I love that its easy to find in Ohio.

12 ounce bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Pours a murky amber with a white head of foam that dissipates quickly. The aroma has interesting vanillaand toffee notes. Kinda reminds me of whisky. The taste is sweet for sure. Pretty enjoyable.

12 oz bottle. (Jungle Jims) Fairfield, OH.
My girlfriend chose this one for me. Clear amber colour with a small white head. Sweet malt, hops, candies and some darkness in the aroma. Dark malt in the flavour. Not very interesting.
