Pours gold with a lasting white head. Smells of grass, hay, wildflowers, dry malt. Tastes of earth, tea, some peppery hints, floral with a light citrussy finish.

Apr 26, tap @ Thirsty Dog, Akron. Typical lager, lots of flavor of malts and hops, balanced and crispy. Very drinkable. Finsihes with a nice bitter aftertaste.

Bottle from the Carrboro Bev Co. Actually don’t know that I’d ever had this before. Bright golden pour, fizzy and with a billowy carbonation. Some modest hops in the nose, lots of dry fruits too. Mouthfeel feels just a bit weak, despite the abundant carbonation, petering out quite quickly. Flavor comes across as just a bit too bready, occluding some of the dry, hoppy, citrusy elements that seem more appealing (although you could argue that these tend to take the beer a bit to the far edges of the style designation). Decent overall, but probably wouldn’t seek it out again.

Serving: 12 oz. bottle from State Line Liquors. It pours a very deep gold color with a small, frothy white head. The head fades rather quickly. The nose is fairly vibrant with sweet pale malts and a bit of hops. This one leans to the sweet side for a lager with some honey and a very slight leafy hop note. Medium body with average carbonation and a pleasingly crisp finish. Well balanced, maybe slightly malt heavy, but very drinkable. I thought it was rather enjoyable.

12 fl oz bottle from BOTW (Rochester), served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Clear amber with a small white head. Aroma: Raw barley, pleasant light caramel with some fruity notes, grains/cereals, biscuit and toast malts, a touch of grassy hops? Palate: Medium body, fine effervescence. Flav.: A definite grassy, herbal note, bread/biscuit malts, some light vague fruitiness and a little caramel, other cereals/grains; dry with restrained bitterness and a light, pleasant malt finish.

Pleasant, like most Labs.

Bottle. Poured dark golden color with medium frothy white head that last with fair lacing. Moderate balanced sweet aroma. Medium bittersweet flavor and medium bittersweet finish of moderate duration. Soft drinkable beer.

(bottle - 12 oz) Clear golden pour with mild carbonation and a very thin white head. Very sweet aroma. Corn, caramel and a slight fruityness underneath. Sweet and fruity flavor at the start that goes to a dry and lightly bitter malt middle. The sweetness hangs on for some reason as the mouthfeel really dries out and leaves a lightly bitter aftertaste.

12 oz bottle - Pours a golden color with a fairly thin white head - decent lacing. Aroma of bread, grainy malt and grass. The flavor is light, sweet malt, caramel and some mild, crisp hops. An okay brew but didn’t knock my socks off.

Pours a hazy copper orange with nice layer of bubbly white head. Aroma is sweet caramel dipped oranges - kinda reminds me of my summer in argentina where we’d pick the mandarin oranges right off the trees and dip the pieces in dulce de leche. Flavor had a nice medium mouthfeel to it. Sweet caramel base some grain flavor and honey with hint of lemon flowers. Overall, very enjoyable beer. Paired well with goulash.

Poured a clear orange color with a thin off-white head. Bottle had a pretty cool picture of a dog. Aroma of pale malts with some honey. Some other spices as well. Taste has lots of pale malts with honey. Slightly syrupy and sweet, but still pretty drinkable. Overall it’s not bad, but it’s nothing special. I don’t think it’s a great example of the style.
