Delicious dark porter. Caramel, chocolate notes with a small hint of smokiness. Thought with a name like Old Leghumper, I wasnít expecting much from this beer.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Nic every dark maybe red/amberish color with a fizzy offwhite head. Aroma seems mostly of roasted/toasted malts a little bready/yeasty. Flavor is a decent licorice sweetness with some toasty notes mixed in. Itís fairly sweet but I think the fizzyness of the carbonation takes away from the overall flavor. This is a good bear but not great.

Nice, developed porter here. Good roast malt with some smoke and a little robust pungence. Dark chocolate as well. Pours black with decent initial head and lacing. Good thick consistency. Average carbonation. Finishes with light bitterness. Bottle.

12 oz bottle. Big body and flavor here makes me wonder why all porters canít have at least a little more character. Nice roasty malt flavors with a touch of chocolate. Some milk chocolate creaminess and a light bittersweet finish.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Long Island, NY - 12 oz. beer pours a dark cola color with a thin layer of brownish head. Aroma was malt heavyz I don't dwell much in porters but taste was of slight hops with a hint of sweetness. Heavy malt backbone with a smooth mouth feel. Not a bad brew

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2014 Undated 12 oz bottle served in a snifter at about 50-55F. This porter pours nearly black but clear with a dark tan head that has limited retention but leaves decent lacing. The aroma has an attractive mix of sweet malts with more dark fruit than dark roasted grains. Flavor: a mix of sweet malts and dark roasted grains. Hints of toffee and dark fruits, Lightly sweet. Hint of coffee and dark chocolate in the aftertaste.
Feel: Soft, low carbonation. Full bodied. Creamy smooth.

Odd, this was more like a Scottish ale or even a Belgian to me. Was way too sweet with rock candy and dark fruits. Very little of the porter profile. Ease up on the sugar, fellas.
