3.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Gwebster (5) - Cape Girardeau, Missouri, USA - MAR 29, 2012This was a pretty good beer, but nothing to write home about. It was definitely better than the big names that were offered beside it.

Bottle. Dark black color as expected. Huge light khaki head. Chocolate and malt aroma. Starts very sweet and finishes a little tart. Way to heavily carbonated for me though.

12 ounce bottle poured black with aromas of light chocolate, malts, some light coffee, and a touch of earth. Flavors are the same, a little thin on the palate for how I like my porters, still a decent beer.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 hockeybeerguy (212) - Portland, Maine, USA - FEB 7, 2013
It pours a deep dark black that leaves the same color body. A massive two inch off-white/tan head apears and takes a good three minutes before settling. There is a lot of lacing seen and the body is too dark for any carbonation to be seen rising. The aroma has a chocolate sort of nuttiness up front. The taste has the same smell backed up with some toffee and coffee. It is very nicely done. The palate is about a medium with some light tickly harshness on my tongue. Overall, this is good for its style and great to me.
