RCL (855), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Apr 30, 2008 Super nutty aroma. Flavor is just a bit less nutty, with a nice cocoa and lightly caramel-like flavor. Pretty good brew.
GreenBeer (9), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA does not count Apr 23, 2008 This beer poured a very dark brown with a half-inch, light brown head. The head dissipated after about a minute and did not leave much on the sides of the glass. You can smell the chocolate malt and the sweetness of this beer. This sweet malty flavor lingers from the first sip to the aftertaste. (In a good way.) A bit sweet for my taste, but I would certainly order another. derekbang (50), USA Apr 19, 2008 good flavor, aroma, and aftertaste. If only it has a thicker mouthfeel and better head. Illini08 (473), Champaign, Illinois, USA Apr 14, 2008 12 oz. bottle bought on a beer-run in Indianapolis. Very dark brown pour with a small mocha colored head. Very sweet aroma with some roasted malt character emerging as well. Flavor was sweet with plenty of roasted malt and bitter chocolate. Slightly thinner mouthfeel than expected. Still, a very nice beer! idbowman82 (55), Painesville, Ohio, USA Apr 13, 2008 Pours a clear(ish) brown with an average light tan head.
Aroma is malt, chocolate with a certain sweetness about it. The flavor is much the same, with the addition of faint coffee, increased sweetness, and a floral woodiness. Finish was just a hair thinner than I might have liked, but the finish was cleaner than many similar porters.
