COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
A robust porter, dark brown in color and full-bodied with a malty sweet taste. Deep roasted, yet silky-smooth! Two types of roasted malts, including deep-roasted chocolate malt are used to give this porter a rich, chocolately taste.

12 oz bottle. The pour was a dark murky brown with some ruby highlights and an average (1-2 finger) light tan frothy head that receded down to a thick film and large collar with good runny lacing. The aroma was of roasted dark bread malts, a mild resin hop and an earthy yeast with notes of milk chocolate and roasted coffee. The taste was very malty and quite roasty with a bold chocolate presence early on, progressing with a slightly bitter and silky smooth coffee taste with a mildly harsh bite towards the finish. The flavor lasted an average duration following the swallow with a lightly bitter mocha coffee flavor left lying on the taste buds. Mouthfeel was just under medium in body with a dry, oily texture and almost flat carbonation, almost. Overall after sippin’ on this brew for a while, it comes off as a delightfully tasty and silky smooth brew with a really good drinkability... www.facebook.com/KAJIIsBeerReviews

Poured from bottle. Part of a sampler. Dark brown/black with little head and bubbles. Aroma of caramel, vanilla, chocolate, malts, soy, alcohol. Good sweet/bitter mix with hints of salty. More carbonation than I expected based on pour and lack of head. Body is a bit thin for a porter but a nice offering. And I love the name!

Pours brownish black with a thinner khaki-mocha head that settles to a ring and produces some splotchy lace. Nose involves some roasted and chocolate malts, some caramelized sugar, some vanilla, almost comes across oaky, definitely toasty, maybe a dash of spice. Pretty sweet but nicely bitter to balance. Medium bodied, softer carb, with a toasty drying bitter finish. A tasty brew.

Bottle. Dark black color as expected. Huge light khaki head. Chocolate and malt aroma. Starts very sweet and finishes a little tart. Way to heavily carbonated for me though.

12 ounce bottle poured black with aromas of light chocolate, malts, some light coffee, and a touch of earth. Flavors are the same, a little thin on the palate for how I like my porters, still a decent beer.

Bottle. 4/7/13. Pours opaque brown-black with a thing off-brown head. Aroma is chocolate, dark fruit, coffee, earthy, sweet; well-balanced. Taste is (slightly tart) dark fruits, chocolate, chalky, coffee, robust. Really nice flavor. Carbonation is medium-low; nice. Mouth feel is slick, oily. Little lacing. Excellent flavor.
