does not count GreenBeer (9), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Apr 23, 2008 This beer poured a very dark brown with a half-inch, light brown head. The head dissipated after about a minute and did not leave much on the sides of the glass. You can smell the chocolate malt and the sweetness of this beer. This sweet malty flavor lingers from the first sip to the aftertaste. (In a good way.) A bit sweet for my taste, but I would certainly order another.
DandyWolfFloyd (225), Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 17, 2008 Aroma is full of dark roasty malts, with some sweetness, and chocolate malts. The appearance is very dark, with a thin off-white head. A very dark color, brown-black. Flavor is full of chocolates, roasted barley malts, and coffee malts. The beer is a full-bodied well balanced. Also good for a quality session night. Steinface (63), Hatfield, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 15, 2008 Feels like a dark lager in the mouth, yet tastes of a chocolately, malty porter. BeerGestapo (297), Windsor, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 8, 2008 (USA) Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small dissipating tan head. Aroma is of roasted malts and chocolate !! The taste is of mild chocolate, coffee, and a hint of caramel. The mouthfeel is lite for a porter, but still very refreshing. beerbill (1243), Laurel, New York, USA Aug 6, 2008 12 oz. bottle courtesy of my Summer Secret Santa. Pours black with a thin tan head that disappeared after the first two sips and left no lace. Surprisingly light aroma of chocolate and very light roast. The flavor is mild also with chocolate, very light roast, and a bit of tobacco. No bitterness to speak of at the finish. Light bodied for a porter with a thin mouthfeel. I love the label for this beer, but "robust" is not a word I would use to describe this porter. "Timid" is the word I would choose. PorterPounder (2810), Tallahassee, Florida, USA Jul 28, 2008 Canton, Oh. - Winking Lizard Tavern - 12 oz bottle. Dark black pour, mocha colored head that is slightly thin. Flavor has some day old cold bittersweet coffee notes, good roastiness, some potting soil and just a touch of cocoa. The mouthfeel is just a tad too spritzy for a porter however. Still very enjoyable though.
