This is a good beer for a breezy spring day. I drank it from a cask and it was so good, the cherry after taste is a Hugh plus.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
This was from a firkin at Belvidere at Broad during Richmond Beer Week. Billed as Orthus with Sour Cherry, but I got zero sour note from this brew, so I think it was a mislabel of this beer. Medium hazy amber. Aroma faintly of caramel malts with a hint of fruitiness. Flavor was sort of a standard "amber" profile, no hop notes, just a bit of cherry on the finish. Not bad, but remarkably not exciting either. Just sort of "there."

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Cask at the 2nd Annual Winking Lizard Real Ale Fest on 3/27/10. Pours clear brown with a medium beige head. Aroma of sweet cherries, bananas and bread. Cherry pie filling hits the tongue first giving way to dark malt and a bit of Belgian yeast on the back end. Very similar to the Belgian Siberian Night with sweet cherries, but without the chocolate note and a little less on the banana.

Cask version at Winking Lizard’s 2nd Annual Real Ale Fest (03/27/10): This brew is a mostly clear copper color with a medium off-white head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing. Aroma of yeast, fruit and malt. Medium body with flavors of fruity esters, spices and yeast. The finish is yeast and cherries with a lingering tart aftertaste. Decent overall.
