3.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 Butters (3325) - Richmond, Virginia, USA - APR 5, 2009
Sampled at the Impromptu Butter’s 5th cellar clearance. Near clear gold pour with fair white head. Nose is massive sweet raspberry much like a lindeman’s framboise. Flavor has a tartness and fake raspberry flavor. Raspberries and cream. A little carbonic bite, but not overpowering. Enjoyable example of a fruit beer.

Pours an off-white head with a dark golden body that is full of particulates, both white and dark (rasp pieces). Smells like raspberry with a hint of bread. Tastes like raspberry yogurt. Smooth, mellow, and a good fading raspberry finish.

12oz. bottle Pours hazy gold with a large thin white head. Aroma of fresh raspberries, carbonated mouthfeel like a raspberry soda minus the sufficent carbonation. Taste does not follow the aroma raspberry dissapears and you end up with an ale with a touch of raspberry]. Decent but not for me.

Bottle. Pretty much your typical raspberry/blackberry/blueberry fruit beer. Tastes like a pale lager with with some fruit juice added. Pretty darn not interesting. Next...

2.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20 bigrond (1347) - factoryville, Pennsylvania, USA - FEB 23, 2009
When I opened the bottle I though it was going to be great, you smell the raspberries a few feet away. As I watched this beer pour, its pale body and thick brigth white had made me wonder. Then I tasted it. I was very dissappointed. It did have a raspberry flavor and thats about it. No character, no body. Started great - ended poorly.
