COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.

12 ounce bottle into snifter glass, bottled in Spring 2013. Pours dense pitch black color with a nice 2 finger dense and rocky dark tan head with great retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Nice dense soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of big dark/milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, molasses, toffee, dark bread, vanilla, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, light licorice/raisin, light smoke/char, and roast/oak earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel notes; with great strength. Taste of huge dark/milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, molasses, toffee, dark bread, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, light licorice/raisin, light smoke/char, and roast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate roast/char bitterness and bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish; with lingering notes of milk chocolate, cocoa, coffee, vanilla, molasses, toffee, dark bread, bourbon, toasted oak, coconut, light smoke/char, and roast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel flavors; with a great roasted bitter/sweet and oak/bourbon spiciness balance with zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light-medium carbonation and full bodied; with very smooth, creamy/silky, and lightly slick/chalky balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a light warmth present after the finish. Overall this is an incredible BA imperial stout. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of dark/roasted malt and bourbon barrel flavors; and very smooth to sip on for the big ABV. An insanely delicious offering.

Tallahassee, Florida - ABC Fine Wine and Spirits - 12 oz bottle. Deep, dark sable black pour, silky, mocha colored head that leaves a light film of lacing. Aroma has some solid chocolate accents, subtle bourbon accents, a touch of creosote and licorice. Solid barrel-aged flavor, not over-wrought or cloying like some BAs can be. Nice chocolate undertones, some licorice, subtle espresso notes in the finish. Silky smooth mouthful. Very enjoyable way to while away a. Ice Christmas evening.

Bottle. Midnight black with a mocha head. Typical for a well brewed stout. Beautiful bourbon millk chocolate imperial stout nose. Light coffee and medium roasted malts. Slight vanilla and oak on the nose with just a bit of alcohol. In the taste, decadent triple layer chocolate cake balanced by medium coffee-like roast bitterness, mild oak tannins, and light bourbon warmth. Palate is not thick and viscous, but rather has a nice level of carbonation that makes it more drinkable than most imperial or bourbon aged imperial stouts. Don’t mistake this for the type of carb that almost takes the flavor out of decadent beers like this, rather it allows you to drink an entire bottle without feeling weighed down! Excellent example of the style up their with the likes of black note and good examples of bourbon plead the fifth.

Provsmak på good beer nyc. Svart med ljusbrunt skum. Mustig chokladdoft. Lite stickig kolsyra med rejäl bourbon och chokladsmak.

Bottle thanks to Jsquire. Inky black with small foamy beige head with great endurance, mocha aroma, low carbonation, milky chocolate taste with strong whisky overtones, full body, long mocha finish with whisky aftertaste. Great imperial stout, with a tad too much whisky influence.

Poured into a snifter. 3.75 A: Black color. One finger of frothy/creamy light brown head. Retention is about average and a short ring of lacing is left. 3.75 S: Big leather from the bourbon stands out the most. Roastiness, dark chocolate, a touch of char, and molasses. Melon, oak, and vanilla from the barrel. 3.75 T: Taste mirrors the nose closely. Roast, dark chocolate, molasses. Again there’s lots of leather. Oak and vanilla are stronger in the taste. Touch of ashy char to round things out. 3.75 M: Lighter heavy body. Good moderate carbonation. Moderately creamy and super smooth. 3.75 D: Good well rounded beer. ★ 625 characters DavoleBomb, May 10, 2014
