12oz bottle to snifter. Dark pour. Slightly viscous. Quick cola like fizziness that leaves just a hint of a ring. Sweet barrel aroma. Bitter bakers chocolate flavor with prickly carbonation. Lots of woody oak on the finish.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
bottle shared by mathieuc, thanks bro! pours unclear very dark brown with a nice creamy reviving light beige head, leaving some lacing. peppery yet silky milky chocolate, some raisiny dark fruitiness, perfumey booze, bourbon, almost overly roasted maltiness, sweetish burnt caramelized nuts, some sweetness - dark ironed molasses with a maple syrup touch, hint of smoke, pepper and pine. light carbonation, medium to full body - oily and lightly sweet, assertive if not bold woodsy-piney-peppery and boozy finish. hot and bold mouthfeel. still tasty. barreling seems to mellow and tune it down a bit - nice integration.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown and is topped by a thin beige rim that leaves good lacing. Nose is of chocolate, coffee and coconut. Not a bourbon bomb, I have hard time picking some. Taste is of caramel, chocolate and pretty bitter roasted malt. It gets a bit tiresome after a while, good thing we split that bottle! Body is full and carbonation moderate, mouthfeel just smooth. Good but not great.

4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle thanks to trade with jdb288, thanks Derek! Pours a thick black with dissipating tan head that leaves great lace. Aroma is chocolate and bourbon, hints of vanilla and roast, a back end of phenolic alcohol. Taste is chocolate bourbon stout goodness, thick and viscous without any sign of the booze. Pretty damn nice.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Great balance in this RIS, with the barrel aging contributing to a very smooth body and well hidden ABV but mild bourbon aromatics and flavors. Good complexity with relatively strong notes of dark chocolate and dark bread, and more subtle coffee. .

4.1 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours black, with a medium foamy, tan head. The nose is assertive, and complex. Notes of chocolate, coconut, oak, peat, vanilla, and sherry. Sweet flavor, with very little burnt bitterness. Very heavy body, creamy, and smooth.
This beer impressed me thoroughly. The aromas are layered very well, with the bourbon accenting the stout well, without overwhelming it. Not drinkable, exactly, but sip by sip, it disappeared far too quickly.
