COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.

Bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop. Why in the world did I pay $7.99 for 12oz? An impulsive moment for me, and in retrospect a stupid one. This beer is good but far from great. Black pour, sort of flat. Nose is lots of vanilla, slightly sour oak notes, hints of chocolate. Lots more sweet chocolate, syrupy sweet, and a bit of chocolate bitterness on the finish. Far from worth the cost.

Thirsty Dog Bourbon Barrel Aged Siberian Night makes the mark in the category. Dark pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is chocolaty with peanut notes. Taste is chocolate, coffee and peanut with a tinge of bourbon. Surprisely smooth finish given the ABV. Siberian Night is about at good as it gets in the RIS category.

2016/07/31 - Pours black with a fluffy tan head that quickly reduces and leaves lots of splotchy lacing. Aroma is milk chocolate, coffee, charred wood, oaky vanilla, licorice, bourbon, vegetal hops, light butterscotch and a hint of coconut. Taste is creamy milk chocolate, mild coffee, smokey wood, oaky vanilla, lots of bourbon, some vegetal notes and light butter. Mouthfeel is thick and sticky with smooth carbonation and a moderately sweet, boozy, warming finish. Finish is a little harsh, but overall this beer is delicious and nicely balanced. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle courtesy of Hackobock. Pours blackish dark brown with a small frothy mocha head that leaves some sparse trace on the glass while dissiapting. Smell is malty and very tiny vegetal with roasted malts, caramel, vanilla fudge, charred wood, dark roast coffee, dark chocolate, roasted coconut, green chili, moist soil and bourbon alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty. Mouthfeel is round, tiny oily, tiny astringent, tiny boozy and medium to full bodied. Finish is sweet and bitter with fat chocolate malts and bourbon. Solid... Perhaps a bit hot.

Pours black with tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, coffee. Taste is vanilla, cream, and bourbon up front, followed by coffee, burnt malt and bitter dark chocolate. Really quite a change from sweet to burnt/bitter all in the course of one sip. Creamy mouthfeel. Good stuff.

Dark tan head on a near black body. Nose is rich with bourbon, coffee, cream and chocolate. Lots of elements here working in good balance. Roasted malt, dark chocolate, bourbon, molasses, cream, fudge, vanilla and some rich dark berries, with enough supporting hops. Dense rich body. Top notch dessert IS.

A very good bourbon barreled stout. Pours a deep brown-black with a tan head. Smells of chocolate, coffee and marshmallow. Taste is smooth, with chocolate and marshmallow, and some vanilla in the finish. Had in the bottle.
