COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.

Bottle from Sam’s Quik Shop. Why in the world did I pay $7.99 for 12oz? An impulsive moment for me, and in retrospect a stupid one. This beer is good but far from great. Black pour, sort of flat. Nose is lots of vanilla, slightly sour oak notes, hints of chocolate. Lots more sweet chocolate, syrupy sweet, and a bit of chocolate bitterness on the finish. Far from worth the cost.

[5682-20130817] Bottle. Roasted peanut vanilla malt aroma. Black body with a quick foamy light tan head. Roasted light coffee malt flavour has a hint of wooden barrel. Full body. Tasty, great balance. (7/3/8/4/16) 3.8+

On tap. Great balance in this RIS, with the barrel aging contributing to a very smooth body and well hidden ABV but mild bourbon aromatics and flavors. Good complexity with relatively strong notes of dark chocolate and dark bread, and more subtle coffee. .

12 oz. bottle. Pours black, with a medium foamy, tan head. The nose is assertive, and complex. Notes of chocolate, coconut, oak, peat, vanilla, and sherry. Sweet flavor, with very little burnt bitterness. Very heavy body, creamy, and smooth. This beer impressed me thoroughly. The aromas are layered very well, with the bourbon accenting the stout well, without overwhelming it. Not drinkable, exactly, but sip by sip, it disappeared far too quickly.

Big malty, grainy, chocolate, roasty, aroma, light notes of vanilla and booze. Thick dark blackish color, brown creamy head. Very roasty, chocolately malt, semisweet, notes of oak, finishes with some bourbony/boozy character. Smooth for the high boost.

12 oz bottle into a tulip. Vintage unknown. Pours a pitch black with a wispy mocha head. Nose is roast, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and light oak and booze. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, and lots of oak. A bit too thin. Not bad, but not amazing.
