COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
We took our award winning Siberian Night Russian Imperial Stout and aged it for 11 months in fresh bourbon barrels. The result blew us away. The dark chocolate malt yields a milk chocolate flavor that blends perfectly with the vanilla flavor from the barrel. The bourbon aroma adds the finishing touch.

32 oz. growler from Party Town. Pours dark brown/black in color with a medium sized creamy tan head. The nose has some of the roasted malts of the base beer, but is muted due to the sweet bourbon and vanilla notes from the barrel. The flavor also has the nice things from the base beer; chocolate, roasted malts, nice bitterness. The barrel adds some sweetness, bourbon and vanilla. Although I like this beer, I still prefer the base beer by a lot. Smooth, but the sweetness would keep me from drinking too much of this.

Growler... Light black body, light tan head, nice lasting tan head for a ba beer...the nose is too light, sweet bourbon, a little chocolate, disappointed, a bit of a fruity nose as well... The taste is also disappointing, this destroys the base beer roasted chocolate notes, mostly a sweet bourbon stout, boring... Had such high hopes, let down

On tap in a snifter. Pours black with a lacy, tan head. Aroma of chocolate, oak, light vanilla, roasted malts, and some hops. A chocolaty imperial stout that I wish had more oak flavor. Still pretty good. Thick texture. A good beer.

On tap at The Brew Kettle, served in a snifter. A big sipper. Dark, thick, minimal head. Big on chocolate, and coconut and vanilla from the barrelling. A hint of booziness.Coffee, coco, roasted malt. Overall well executed, bitter but still balance.Roast in aroma.

Growler from Chucks in Bowling Green KY. Pours black with a brown head. Nice aroma of oak, bourbon, and sweet dark chocolate. Full bodied with medium carbonation and a milky texture. Flavor is rich, full of dark roasted malts, bourbon, coffee grounds, and LOTS of oak. Finish is dry and ashy with char notes from the barrel. Good, and a nice value at $20 per bomber. However, I like regular Siberian Night much better.

(draft @ Melt Bar and Grilled - Cleveland Heights, OH) Dark black pour with a thick and creamy tan head. Big coffee and vanilla aroma with some nice chocolate underneath. Chocolate and slight bourbon flavors at the start with a coffee, chocolate and light smoke flavor near the middle. Finishes with a sweet and oaky coffee finish with a lightly sweet aftertaste. Very roasty and very tasty.

Sample thanks to an unknown person at DLD, thanks!. Pour is is pretty close to black with a thin brown head. Aroma is smokey and ashy with notes of roasted malt and a light earthy/ woody component. Flavor is also ashy and light smokey with roasted malt and light wood. Very smooth.

10 oz. snifter at Teller’s. Pours a deep, opaque brown color that shows some transparency on the edges, especially as it gets low, with a small tan ring for a head. Hot aroma, with a lot of fresh boozy bourbon notes, oak, roasted malts, burnt toast, vanilla, and coffee. Flavor of bourbon, oak, roasted malts, coffee, toast, and dark, rich chocolate. Warming alcohol. Medium-full bodied, with moderate carbonation and a warming mouthfeel. This came across as super fresh, and I’d be curious to try it with a little age, as I bet it would mellow out.

Barrel aged Siberian night...growler thanks to miketd. shared at dlday 2011.. Pours a darker cola black with reddish tints and topped with a wispy tan head... Flavors are bitter chocolate a little char and bitter on the finish. Mild bourbon with a thin feel, bodywise... Aroma of bourbon vanilla and chocolate. thinking i enjoy the standard a fair bit more. 8/3/7/3/15
