3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Refrigerated 12 oz. bottle poured into a snifter. Pours black with very small beige head. Milk chocolate aroma, medium/thick body, lower carbonation, and little lacing. Taste is roasty, chocolate with dry finish. Pretty easy to drink for the ABV, good, but not a favorite for me.

4.5 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
12 oz bottle for 3 bucks. Pours jet black with a brown head. Really nice looking stout. Smells like chocolate and malts. Taste is sweet chocolate and roasted malts with a lasting bitterness. Beer is thick and oily with below average carbonation. A great imperial stout with all the features I like.

I had this one a few years ago when the distribution was widespread in DC and Virginia. I was shopping at a great beer store in Annapolis and found a 6er of this. The bottles were a bit dusty, but I figured since this is a style of beer that ages well, that might actually be a good thing:
Ap: Pours out thick, oily, and with absolutely no head. Carbonation is a bit on the low side.
Ar: Grapes? Not a really strong aroma, and almost like a faint chocolate wine. Okay..
T: The chocolate, dark fruit, and cinnamon afterburn are all there, but the body seems kind of thin. The aftertaste is not fulfilling and seemed a taddy watery.
P: Not boozy at all, pretty thick, and no glass lacing. Pretty solid mouthfeel.
O: Good to average overall. Nothing really memorable about this RIS.

Siberian Night . . . NO KIDDING. The smell is a little cold and sour . . . I canít quite place it, but there is dark chocolate there after a few minutes. As for the look, this beer is top notch dark. I even turned out the lights and did a flashlight test. No light got through either the beer or the head, which is a rich, milk-chocolaty brown. The flavor is chocolate and black coffee with coffee on the back end with just a little bit of bitter, but just enough to sweeten the rest. HUGE fan of this beer.

4.3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours black with a tan head that fades quickly to a ring. Aroma is dark chocolate, espresso, a hint of banana and some vanilla notes. Taste is a delicate balance of roasted malty sweetness and dark, sultry bitterness. Full-bodied, sumptuous, voluptuous brew. I love it!

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from Charleston Beer Exchange. It pours near black with a small tan head. The nose is roasted malt, salted caramel, coffee, cocoa, burnt earth and wood. The taste is roasted malt, coffee, earth, toast, wood, toast, ash and slight stickiness with a dry, roasty finish. Medium-full body and moderate carbonation. Damn tasty!

Maybe my taste buds are funky but I sweat the first taste was kinda like Kahlua. Not in a bad way it just caught me off guard. Surprisingly drinkable for near 10% I found myself taking fairly large gulps. Solid stout that makes me really want to try the Barrel versions.
