Creamy and full-bodied, with a complex character from generous amounts of roasted, toasted, and caramel malts. For those who demand flavor, this is the perfect libation. Bronze Medal winner 2003 GABF, Gold Medal winner 2005 GABF.

Pours a deep burnt umber color with a finger of khaki foam. The nose is roasty with deep chocolate malt, spent coffee grounds. The palate follows the nose with nice balance between the roast, sweet chocolate and coffee notes. Nicely down with a good dose of carbonation to keep it highly drinkable.

Aroma is chocolate and alchol. Nice head that fades. Nice dark flavors, dark chocolate dark coffee/toffee. Not to bitter on the tongue. Not bad overall.

Pours dark as a starless night with a full frothy head. Excellent lacing that lasts. The nose is mostly chocolate, but roast and hints of dark fruit are also present. As it warns, coffee is noted. The body is not quite full and has a nice slick mouthfeel. The above average carbonation level tends to diminish the mouthfeel until it warms and outgasses. After outgassing, it is full bodied and creamy. The excellent flavor profile is well balanced and complex. It begins with sweet dark chocolate, progresses to roast and coffee then rotates to a caramel and dark fruit sweetness. Notes of raisin, plum and molasses are detected across the profile. It finishes smoothly with sweetness and a slight alcohol note and roast bitterness. This GABF Gold Medal winner doesn’t disappoint.

Bottle. Black with brown head. Cocoa, vanilla and a little licorice. Sweet flavour with lots of cocoa, chocolate, roasted malts and a burnt bitter finish. Nice, but not so impressive as I had hoped.

Pours black with a thick creamy head. Toasty malt on the noise with a hint of sweetness. Creamy mouth feel with a dry finish. Coffee and molasses flavors and a high ABV make this a imperial stout a keeper! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

UPDATED: MAR 5, 2014 Best Stout ever !!!...Excellent well balanced Imperial Stout, that I enjoy drinking more often than other great Imperial Stouts like Stone Russian, Founders, Bells Expedition, Ale Smith Speedway,...Siberian Night has slightly more hops than the rest of them, and tastes closest to Stone’s flavor than the others...it’s also the best price, at only $9.99 per 4 pk or $8.99 on sale....but it’s still the best tasting, which is really cool !....had it for the first time at their Thirsty Dog Brewery, where you can walk right into the brewery operation, right past the giant brew kettles, and sit at a bar in the middle of the factory...with about 15 beers on tap and a bar tender....you can drink and watch them working away brewing beer ...funny, the first time I walked in, the owner was sitting at the bar conducting business with clients, they all had their briefcases and laptops out, and all drinking beer...I sat next to them, and thought, what a cool way to make a good living....great Stout too....Uummm , life is good !

Pours black with a fine expresso tan head that fades in a few minutes to a rim. Fine lacing. Aroma is toasted malts, roasted coffee and some jammy sweetness. Taste is a variety of coordinated malt flavors - toasted grains, roasted sweet chocolate and some coffee. There is a backing burnt bitterness and an undercurrent of booze as well. Rich and creamy mouthfeel. Very well-balanced. Improves greatly with a bit of warming. Top notch Imperial Stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Aromas of cherries, coffee, chocolate and minor herbs. Light tan head and black body with a slight red hue. Dry roasty dark chocolate and minor berry flavors with an earthy black coffee finish. Smooth on the palate.

Bottle. Pour is black with a small tan head. Aroma and flavor are both on the smokey side with notes of roasted coffee, caramel, and chocolate. Lots of booze in the finish.
