Creamy and full-bodied, with a complex character from generous amounts of roasted, toasted, and caramel malts. For those who demand flavor, this is the perfect libation. Bronze Medal winner 2003 GABF, Gold Medal winner 2005 GABF.

Smoky slight burnt taste, taste a bit too strong from my liking, but in line with 10 percent

12oz bottle. Pour is not as dark as one would imagine. Opaque black with brown tints. Head is rather thin. Heavy aromas of cocoa, bakers chocolate and roast everything, Malts, nuts, coffee, caramel. Finish is a little dry with slight bitterness. 9.7%abv is well balanced with all the flavors of this full bodied beer. Not much to complain about or improve on. Wish I had picked up a second one.

Pours black with minimal tan head. Aromas are heavy roast, bakerís chocolate. Flavors follow similarly. Not much sweetness to this one, itís fairly dry. Full of roast, with a dry coffee-like finish, itís good for the style. Alcohol is very well hidden.

Bottle. Deep stouty brownish-black pour, opaque with a massive espresso colored froth, ridiculous retention and lace. Nose is dark roasted barley, coffee, cocoa, hazelnuts, malts. Mouth is big and creamy, bittersweet, coffee, roast, nutty, bakers chocolate, some soot near the finish. Goes down dangerously easy for a 9.7%. Woof.

bottle @ Party Town / Florence KY --- Opaque black color, brown head, lace cobwebs. Aroma of malt, chocolate, and dark dried fruit. Taste is toasted malt that grows substantially through the swallow, then backs off a little as it adds chocolate and mild bittering in a very long finish. Huge body, hides the alcohol well enough. A keeper. Recommended.

Tap at Akkurats 20th anniversary. Dark mahogany brown with white head. Roasted aroma with dark chocolate, coffee and a little bit of char. Pretty silky coffee taste with roasted malt, coffee, prunes and a hint of soy sauce. Quite light and a little watery with a bitter coffee finish.

Donkere stout met kleine schuimkraag. Mooie donkere kleur met weinig koolzuur. Hint van chocolade en vooral koffie. Erg lekker! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours the typical black with tan head. Nice aromas of coffee and dark chocolate. Flavors of dark chocolate, coffee and a little bit of soy sauce. Slick and oily body. A commendable Imperial Stout.

Pours a nearly black with a tan head. Looks nice in the cigar city snifter. Dark roasted malt and coffe on the nose. Thick, slick mouthfeel with some fine carbonation scrubbiness. Dark roasted malt, coffee, and lactose flavors.

Pours a rich black color with a roasted malt aroma. Taste is just as advertised with a roasted and toasted malt flavor. The flavor is borderline burnt but it keeps the complexity rather than falling off the ledge. A hint of caramel especially in the initial sip, lending itself to a nice burnt finish.
