4.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20Black as night (I couldn’t see a 150 watt lightbulb through it!) with a dense tan head that was only knocked back due to my incessant swirling. The aroma is really very nice: chocolate, roast, carrots, alcohol, and creamy sugar. The palate is full and creamy (great little bubbles on my tongue, and the alcohol gives that great warming sensation). The flavor is rather impressive: sweet bold mocha coffee with a cherry cordial/floral note in there and a bit oily and smokey. Carrot aftertaste is a bit strange, but really not unpleasant and the closest thing to a flaw in this beer. Really easy drinking. I’m glad I bought a sixer!

Pours black with a tan foam. Smells of alcohol and chocolate maybe some vanilla. Oily like motor oil. Perfect maltiness. Really good stuff.

Smell with coffee, chocolate, carbonated, color in dark pitch with dark brown crown, smooth with coffee taste, somewhat bitter, good texture, great affordable beer.

Draft at the salty caper in nc. Black color. Aroma of bourbon oak, cocoa. Light sweetness. Creamy texture. Great bourbon barrel aged stout.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2013 Draught at Mad Mex. Poured black with brown foamy head. Great aromas of coffee banana and chocolate. Slight booze. Smokey choco malt booze taste. Not as smooth as I would expect.

Bottle, pours pitch black, heavy body, sticks to glass, smells of coffee and chocolate. Mouth feel is thick and creamy, very well balanced roast with hints of chocolate & toffee. Damn fine beer! Similar to left hand,thirsty dog & mission brewing imp. Stouts

Pour is pitch black with a brown head. Great nose, huge roasted malt up front, chocolate and toffee are prevalent, some sweet malt and dark fruit as well. Very bitter chocolatey taste, some coffee, toastiness, molasses, and a light bit of peat in the finish. Full bodied, viscous stout with medium carbonation. Didn’t really expect this from this brewery, but a fantastic beer.

Thanks to Shawn for this one. Black pour with a khaki head. Big roasted malt and licorice aromas. Mild smoke, dark chocolate, earth, molasses, and mild caramel sweetness. The flavor is very roasty and lightly bitter. Notes of smoke, some licorice, and tons of dark chocolate. Earthy hops, some cocoa powder, and a light caramel and molasses sweetness.

Dark pour with medium tan head. Smells of roasts and a bit of chocolate but not much. Pretty good i guess i just got my hopes up. Mostly roasty taste with very slight notes of coffee and chocolate. Very low grade for an imperial stout but still very good! Taste the beast.

Bottle that i bought over a year back, shared with some friends at matt’s house .. . lots of earth, chocolate, and cooking chocolate .. . decent fullness .. . good laid back finish, a really nice beer, would love to try the barreled version .. . . you drive a scooter, i will have to take you out!
