4.3 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 19/20
Black in color with full bubbly tan head that quickly dissipates. Smell has some sweet chocolate and a lot of roasted coffee. There is some dark fruits in there as well. It gets a smokiness as it warms up. The taste is awesome! Strong roasted coffee with dark chocolate and charred bitterness. Hints of a fruity sweetness with a flash of alcohol. The finish is similar to the taste of chewing on a roasted coffee bean. Mouthfeel is smooth and low carbonation. Overall this is fantastic and the best RIS I’ve had to date.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours dark brown almost black with a creamy tan head. Nice roasted malt aroma. Light carbonation. Slightly oily and creamy texture. Strong lingering roasted flavor. Somewhat bitter finish but not too harsh. Descent Imperial stout but pretty one dimensional flavor. Not bad but not as good as it could be.

This is an amazing whiskey barrel aged Imperial Stout. On par w the historic Breckenridge "well built", Epic "Big Bad Baptist", barrel aged Great Divide "Yeti" and Avery Russian Imperial Stout "Czar". Drink and enjoy!

Mmm, an imperial w/out a lingering bitterness & exquisite mouthfeel! Beautiful black pour w/ a mocha head & a ring of lacing. The aroma is a little soft w/ some roasty notes. The flavor is complex w/ coffee, toffee, black liqourice, & a hint of chocolate. A delicious delight & so smooth on the palate - this is a very good beer!

A little boozy, six mos after release. Otherwise inky dark body and nice dark brown head, stout coats the glass! Great mouthfeel and nice lingering finish.
This is a well developed Imperial -- everything I expect and desire. :)
