The aroma is nice, lots of spices going on there. The taste is exceptional for a pumpkin ale, it tastes like pumpkin pie. The price is steep for what it is but if you are in the mood for pumpkin ale give it a try.

Apr 26, tap @ Thirsty Dog, Akron. Pours dark amber with a nice beige head leaving nice lacing. Not too sweet nor spicy. Well balanced pumpkin/squash and malt/hops aroma and flavor. Not too heavy, very drinkable and refreshing. Slight bitter aftertaste.

Reviewed from notes. Pours a nice light copper color with some orange highlights and a white head. A bit of lace going down. The nose brings nutmeg, cinnamon, allspice, and some other light spicing. There is some light pumpkin and caramel as well. Good balance. The taste isnít quite as nice and balanced, with the flavors being a bit more mild. Medium body with good carbonation. I was most excited to try Siberian Night from Thirsty Dog, yet ended up being a bit more impressed by this one. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-23-2010

Firkin at The Belvidere on 11/10/2010 as Thirsty Dog Pumpkin Porter. Mostly clear amber body with a small off-white head. Sweet spice and pumpkin aroma. Sweet spice, nutmeg and pumpkin flavor. Medium body with moderate carbonation. Fairly tasty, but certainly not a porter.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a lightly hazed orange-gold with a moderate linen white head that lasted through the first quarter of the glass and left partial lace. Pleasant aroma of pumpkin along with some light pumpkin pie spice, although the cinnamon seems to be a bit lacking in the spice. The flavor follows the aroma very closely with the same pumpkin and pie spices, but again, the spices seem just a bit off. Not bad, just not quite in the right proportion. Medium bodied.

Gold orange pour with a white head. Aroma of spice. Flavor is light, spicy with a hint of pumpkin. The ginger has a stronger presence than the pumpkin in my opinion.

Bottle shared by a friend. Clear amber pour with a thin white head. Cinnamon, ginger and malt in the nose. Flavor is also cinnamon and ginger with some nutmeg thrown in along with clove. Finishes nice and crisp and dry. Very nice!

Iím a self admitted lover of pumpkin beers and this one is on the higher end in my opinion. Aroma is nice. All nutmeg, cinnamon and pumpkin with a hint of caramel. Pour was a nice enough dark gold with a one finger off white head. Taste started out great. There was strong pumpkin pie spices to lead it off. Nutmeg, allspice, graham cracer and cream. Then, as if it were magic, the flavor turned to water and disappeared.Weird. Nice carbonation rounds this beer out. The initial flavor of this beer makes it a keeper

On tap at Winking Lizard in Mentor Ohio, Dark golden orange with a medium off-white head. Faded to a constant thin layer of foam.. Lots of cinnamon, pumpkin and nutmeg in the nose. Light-bodied and a More carbonated than most Pumpkin Ales.. The pumpkin flavor is not nearly as strong as the aroma would lead you to believe .The finish is crisp and spiced with a little hops as well. Pretty good seasonal from Thirsty Dog. But not quite as good as my top 3, Weyerbacher,Southampton, and DFH. Canít wait for the 12 dogs of Christmas.
