COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This Scottish Style Export Ale gets its unique flavor and aroma through a special time consuming, extra long and vigorous boil. The caramelization blends perfectly with the malty flavor of roasted barley and complementing hops. Raise a glass of this very drinkable ale to ANY occasion.

Bottle. The appearance is deep amber and mildly cloudy. It has a nice sudsy, off-white head. The aroma is caramel malt, a nutty tone, some earth and a little wood. It’s kinda weak but decent. The taste is mildly sweet and toasty. There’s a lemon twang in the finish. Mouthfeel is normal - smooth, sudsy. It’s a fine, calm beer. Easy to drink and inoffensive.

Pours a bright clear rust red with ring of light tan head. Good caramel nose. Flavor is earthy, a little vegetal, hint of cardboard, but mainly burnt caramel and minimal hop spice flavor. Not bad, actually, pretty much what I think of for the style. Decent example.

(draft @ Ohio Scottish Games - Wellington, OH) Copper pour with a thick tan head. Light sweet and mildly smoky aroma with some caramel hints. Flavor is sweet caramel with a very dry and bitter grain middle and a bitter and cloying aftertaste. Not all that great.

Apr 26, tap @ Thirsty Dog, Akron. Pours clear brown with a tanned small head leaving some lacing. Dry, malty, caramel aroma and flavor with nice tart hoppy touch. Very drinkable but not too light.

Aroma is rich toffee an caramel. Sweet and (brown) sugary, but with a nutty balance. Very aromatic. The appearance is dull toffee brown. Zero head. The flavor is nutty like hazelnut and almonds. A little roasted, which adds a needed balance at the end. Not that complex but very good flavor. The palate is ashy, dry, gritty. Very sweet and nutty. Not at all cloying. A nice, dry Scotch ale with a hint of sweetness.

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Pours amber in color with tons of beige head. Aroma is slightly peaty, but not much there. Taste is slightly sweet but lacks the complexity that I usually enjoy in my Scotch Ales. There was almost no smokey peat that I usually enjoy.

12 oz. bottle from Oades Big Ten Ar: Toffee and biscuit on the nose. Malty as expected. Ap: Pours a medium slightly hazy orange-amber with a small off-white head. Decent rings of lace. T: Toffee and caramel dominate. Mild compared to other scotchs I’ve had. Flavors are clean if not overly complex. A touch of smoke comes through on the finish. P: Creamy body with mildish carbonation. O: Pleasantly surprised. Well done malt-centric beer.
