This Scottish Style Export Ale gets its unique flavor and aroma through a special time consuming, extra long and vigorous boil. The caramelization blends perfectly with the malty flavor of roasted barley and complementing hops. Raise a glass of this very drinkable ale to ANY occasion.

12 oz bottle. Poured a orange, light brown color with modest head. Aroma was sweet with the hint of scotch flavors and malt. I was kind of disappointed with the actually taste. I found it too sweet and malty for my tastes. A little roasted barley. Not my favorite scotch ale.

12 ounce bottle - $2.49 at Total Wine & More in Greenville, South Carolina. Appearance: Pours a relatively clear, dark reddish-brown body with a slim, thin, light ecru head. Smell: Toasty, lightly nutty with a thin shaving of roast. A little fruitiness. Modest notes of cocoa and the brownest of sugars. Taste: A washed out, watered-down taste of heavily toasted bread given a bit of brown sugar sweetness and a hint of cocoa powder. Light raisiny fruitiness. A modest touch of spicy hops with a very low bitterness. Sweetish, toasty finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium-low carbonation. Overall: So-so.

12 oz. bottle from ryanmcfly1985- thanks again, Ryan! Pours a cloudy reddish brown with a small khaki head that settles into a film and ring. Notes of toasted malts, leaves, earth, and brown sugar. Very simple and earthy. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation. Not a whole lot to say; just an easy, drinkable Scottish ale.

Excellent, malty, easy drinking beer. I didn’t pick up ant hops but that’s in line with what I was expecting. Reminds me of a carmelly Amber ale. Definitely could have this every day.
