3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
On tap at Black Sheep Lodge. Pours a clear orange color with a small white head. Tried to work up a little more but it was being difficult. Aroma is right off fresh hops. Lots of citrus and piney notes in this. Fresh and sappy. Flavor is fresh hops with spicy citrus and pine. Tree sap leads to bitter notes and a very dry hoppy finish. Also has some sweet notes in it towards the end, especially as it warms a bit. Candied floral hops perhaps? Not bad for such a young brewery.

3.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Appearance- simi dark, similar to other IPAs. Poured with very little head.
Smell- was similar to other IPAs such as 90minute IPA but the smell was not as strong(my sense of smell is not very acute anyway).
Taste- I enjoyed the taste, it was smooth for an ipa ( they have a silver back ipa that really misses, but not this variety ) the after taste was not pleasant tho, its the only part i could complain about.
Mouthfeel- perhaps a little weaker(more watery) compared to the average IPA out there.
I enjoy a good IPA and this one did not let me down. Iím not sure i will order it again at a restaurant when there are other selections, but I am very glad I gave it a try.
Serving type: on-tap

Pour is very hazed orangey amber....thin dense and super sticky tan head...this beer just looks chewy and viscous...lots of small bubbles travelling at what looks like have the speed...smell is super hoppy....resinous, pine, hints of grapefruit...wow...strong sweetness up front and steady throughout and through the finish...then all of the hops come out...almost like a suicide of hop teas...lots of resin and pine flavors....hints of citrus come out with the sweetness...nice lingering finish...what a wonderful surprise!

Wow! This IPA hits the ground running with a great nose. Hops are not an issue here. Great brew from start to finish with a crisp ending with a good copper color and nice amber head. Would have this anytime!

From draft at Austin Saucer on July 25, 2010. Party cloudy/slightly hazy deep amber-orange appearance, really pretty, with a fine, off-white head. Aroma is sweet and syrupy, with a light, but confident hop presence. Flavor is a really great balance, in my opinion, between hops and overall bitterness with a light malt character that isnít shy... it actually tastes deliciously rich and malty for an IPA. Pleasing hop finish with an enjoyable light bitterness. Nice selection of hops... the Mt Hood must have done the trick here. A great first impression from the new Austin brewery. Iím looking forward to more!
