had read about this and put it out of my head when i went to austin, was sure i had missed the boat but happy to see this up on the board, ordered a fat pint! .. . medium smoke level .. deep brown .. low lace .. easy and fun to drink, i liked it but needs way more smoke, and i know say that often but to be freshly smoked- tame. .. . a bar called Schuckers that doesn’t sell oysters is a farce!

Aroma of smoke and malts. Pours a dark ruby brown with rapidly dissipating tan head and no lacing. The taste is primarily smooth smokiness with a nice bitter hoppy finish. Hints of peat in the aftertaste. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overall, much improved from the last time I had it. Enjoyable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Dark brown with a small, light tan head that left light lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoke, burnt wood, roast, and light meaty notes. Taste of roasted malts, dark chocolate, smoked wood, and a dry finish.

very dark, almost black color. tan head holds at a decent film. aroma is smoky and.refreshing at the same time. the smoking is light but present. lacing is good. palate is refreshing. flavor is medium strength with chocolate, barley, mineral water, and a light sweetness on the finish. very very good and enjoyable even in the summer.

On tap @ Lake Saucer Beerfeast. Deep brown pour with some tan head. Big time smoky aroma with some roast and coffee. Smoke is the star of the show here and is done wonderfully. Bits of chocolate and roasted malt.

This beer is now called Franklin BBQ Smoked Porter. The beer pours a dark amber-brown color with an off-white head. The aroma is heavy on the smoke, with a hint of roasted malt. The flavor is also very heavy on the smoke, with some malt sweetness, a hint of roasted malt and a bit of chocolate. Still, the smoke is what really shines in this beer. Thin to medium mouthfeel and medium carbonation. A very nice smoked beer, glad I got to try it.
