3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 lusikka (4044) - Tampere, FINLAND - MAY 29, 2011
330 ml bottle. Rated @ 27.5.2011.
Pours a pitch black colour with a small beige head. Aroma of sweet tropical fruits, grass and caramel. Flavour of smooth roasted malts, mild chocolate, sweet fruits and some hops as well. Medium/full bodied with a thick mouthfeel and a coffee-like, fruity finish. Well done.
3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 tfredvik (630) - Oslo, NORWAY - MAY 11, 2011
Black it is! Upon the black body rests a small, light brown head, at least for a couple of minutes. The remnants that are left at the rim lace the glass pretty well. Burnt notes in the aroma, along with coffee, caramel and a pronounced and delightful element of elderberries. Initial light sweetness and light bitterness, with a long-lasting medium bitter finish. Flavours are mainly brown sugar, elderberries and coffee, while the burnt aroma gives rise to a lighter roasted flavour. Medium body, oily texture, very soft carbonation.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Shakesbeere (212) - Oxford, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - APR 30, 2011
50cL bottle. Pours a dark brown caramel with a tan head. Aroma is hoppy with hints of roasted chocolate. Taste has a significant hop background with hints of caramelized malts and roasted chocolate in the foreground. Finish is roasted and hoppy. The bitter background reminds me of a pale ale or IPA. A good beer, but not mind-blowing.
