4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the Wharf, Aalborg. It pours jet black, looks clear, with a small tan head. A bit weak aroma, but quite heavy roasted, with licorice and some cigarette smoke. Heavily roasted flavor with some cigarette smoke and hops. There are notesof coffee and chocolate as well. Full body and a long burnt finish with bitterness. A lovely porter. Should get it’s place in the ordinary line-up from Thisted. (070331)

(Bottle #6762, BB18/01/08) Pours an opaque dark brown body with a medium-sized beige head. Aroma has a short lived sourness upfront and settles to roasted malts, grilled chicken, some chocolate, light smokiness, and pan fried sausage. Flavor of roasted malt, smoke, tobacco, and light licorice with a dry finish.

4.2 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
UPDATED: APR 27, 2007 Bottle. Pours utterly and completely black. Head is big, beige and a mixture of creamy and bubbly. Aroma feels sweet and fresh. Roasted malts with som coffee and a smoky undertone. Very oily mouthfeel with a low carbonation. Flavour is nice, mostly roasted with a chocolate sweetness to it. Some smokyness and bitterness from indescernable hops. Quite sharp in its alcohol presence. Taste stays in your mouth for quite some time.

4.1 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 16, 2007 Bottle number 0548. A totally pitch black colour with a nice big creamy sticky foamy darkish beige head. Good lacing. Aroma of smoke, well roasted malts, roasted coffee, chocolate and some bitterness. Flavour is smooth and quite smoky, very roasty malts, bitter chocolate, roasted coffee, burned wood. Long bitter smoky finish. A really tasty brew! From Maria. Compared to the drawing on 23a on the back label, looking like an elephants head but with no eyes, this drawing has one eye. So proberly on the next test brew there are 2 eyes.
-------- plenty of bottles of this beer in a Kvickly supermarket in Hillerød. I guess its not that seldom any way. Good to have more for the cellar though. But it sure still is very tasty!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Pitchblack with a nougat colored, creamy head and an aroma with notes of roasted malt and coffee. The flavour has notes of roasted malt, subdued, but nice aroma hops, licorice and coffee. The finish has a nice bitterness. It’s a really nice porter with character, but at the same time it’s deliciously smooth and round. I wonder if the half finished drawing on the back label, an elephants head with one eye, a barrel of beer with the letters RO, means that Peter Klemensen consider this brew almost at the goal: Ronkedor? In my opinion it is almost there, the 23 trials become better and better, and as I said previously - it’s really nice! 1849

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dunkelmalziger Geruch, etwas hopfig, minimal bitter.
