500ml bottle, trade with Skinnyviking. Deep dark brown body, good amount of lacing from a firm, beige head, some of it remaining. Mild aroma of earth and caramel joined by a spicy touch. Substantial impact of spices and herbs in the flavour alongside roasted malts offering hints of caramel and nuts. Long lived bittersweet and semi-dry ending. Quite easy to drink – and to like. Good (hotel room, Copenhagen, 21.03.2013).

Bottle. Pours dark reddish brown with small white head. Aroma is roasted malt, caramel, brown sugar, cloves, prunes, raisins and hints of burnt match and candle lights. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter. Body is creamy with soft but plenty carbonation. Finish is medium long and bitter with notes of butterscotch, grapefruit peel, coriander and mustard seeds. Hints of licorice powder as it warms. Do not serve too cold.

50 cl. bottle. Dark brown colour with a bubbly off-white head. Sweet aroma with dark dried fruits, herbal hops, caramel malts and nuts. Taste is light sweet. Medium body, creamy texture, and a soft carbonation. Finishes sweet with caramel malts, indefinite spices and herbal hop notes. Okay beer, an alternative (maybe unconsciously?) approach to Christmas beers.

500 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 8.0%. Beautiful deep reddish brown colour, moderate off-white head with good retention. Nice aroma of caramel, also mild spicy notes. The flavour is spicy and complex with notes of caramel and dark dried fruits, esp. raisins. Some hoppy bitterness in the finish, slightly sharp in the aftertaste. Overall very good - I am astonished that it is not rated higher.
