A great holiday beer from my grandfathers brewery Thisted Bryghus. It is not quite as strong as the others which makes it easier to enjoy

Moderate malty with some taste of hops. Dard orange colour. This is Christmas beer, but more hoppy than average.

courtesy of Antonio Ruiz - clear and bright amber-red beer with a little foam left; the nose is gently herbal and spicy with hints of caramel; a good malt backbone, subtle carbonation and pretty assertive; a fair herbal bitterness, pretty dry and long spicy finish - original

(Bottle 33 cl) Thisted produces no less than 3 different Christmas beers of which this is the "light" version. Very dark golden with a creamy head and a fantastic aroma of caramel malt. Very full body and also some light caramellish flavours - not really any sweetness though, this is all drowned by a pronounced bitterness. A very well-crafted beer. 101299

Bottle. My first x-max beer in 2006. Nice golden amber with a little head. Flavour is sweetish and malty with slightly burnt notes.

33 cL bottle. Pours slight hazy, light brown to orange and with a huge white head. Mildly sweet aroma with a nice hoppy bitternote appearing. Flavour holds a nice caramel malt with a nice smoothness. Lingering into a mild finish with a soft bitterness which gains more strength to a more solid bitterness in the far finish. Almost fullbodied and smooth brew. Doesn’t show any spices but has a nice Christmas feel to it.

A pleasant Danish Christmas brew, sampled in June(!). Goes very well with the traditional Danish Christmas dinner, roast duck and pickled red cabbage (which I also had in June!). Related to Norwegian Christmas brews, but slightly less spicy. Nice caramelly sweetness, not too much.
Rerate Dec. 2002: Amber/golden colour, moderate head. Light bodied, distinct bitterness that balances the sweetness quite well. Next: their stronger Julebryg.

A milder variation of the Thy Julebryg. I like this one better. Not as dominant alcohol. More sweet and complex.

Familien Frederiksen og Martinussen var uenige. En dejlig øl med god efter smag og et flot udseende. Dog minder den ikke om en decideret juleøl. Mere krydderi og Malt ville gøre den bedre.
