Thisted Mørk Dana Hvidtøl

[Sampled in Ydby, Tvolm with Sisse, Emma Luke Skywalker and Klara Kluk.] A favorite among kids and indeed here in the havgus Gebiet they love it. Great sweet caramel, roasted coffeelicorice stuff with an okay sweetness for the style. Troels, du rykker med dit udvalg!!

Dark mahogany with a nice, creamy head. the aroma is sweetish with notes of roasted malt. The flavour is sweet, but not cloying, and it has notes of roasted malt, dark caramel and weak hints of licorice. It’s a tasty Hvidtøl. 1997

Bottle. Nice red-brownish colour, small short lasting head. Mild sweet, malty, caramel aroma. The flavour is quite sweet with some bitterness and an ok mouthfeel. The aftertaste is short lasting.

Bottle. Pours a brown-copper body with a small, white fluffy head. The aroma has malt, caramel, butter, and cereal. Wow, this is ridiculously sweet - yeah, it’s pretty much unfermented wort. Terrible. I can’t imagine drinking much of this stuff. Thanks for the bottle ChristianSA.

Last beer of my beer trip to Europe in 2006. Dark amber with smallish head. Aroma of sweet molasses. Felt like unfermented sugars. Metallic medicinal finish. Horrible brew.

Bottle. Creamy off-white good mostly lasting head, Brown colour. Week but nice caramellic aroma. Thin flavor, very watery, and sweet. Not the best hvidtøl around.

Actually this is rather good for a hvidtøl. Not as sweet as most other ones. Taste of malts and fruits.

Bottled. Reddish brown with a beige head. Still. Aroma is roasted, with chocolate and coffee. Sweet flavor with dried fruits and caramel. Sweet, sticky mouthfeel. One of the best hvidøls so far, but still too sweet for me. (060430)
