(Draught at Pikkulintu) Poured black with quite large and brown head. Aroma contained roastedness, smoke and liquorice. Palate was full bodied with quite a lot of carbonation. Flavours were roastedness, burntness, some liquorice, hops and hint of coffee. Aftertaste was bitter and roasty. The excessive carbonation was the only mildly negative thing in this beer.

Bottle at ChrisO’s pre-GBBF tasting, 1st Aug 09. A malty shell with a fierce hop bark concealed within. Very dry indeed. "Like smoking" someone (tashi?) commented.

It’s black with a huge, creamy head. The aroma has notes of the typical, spicy yeast, that Thisted uses in the top fermented beers, but also roasted malt, licorice and light chocolate. The flavor has a light sweetness and notes of yeast, spice, licorice, hops, light chocolate and a nice roasted/hoppy bitterness. I prefer the Limfjordsporter or the unblended Ronkedor.

Bottled. Very dark brown/black coloured with a red gleam. Light brown head. Roast, coffee, spice, chocolate, herbs and light liqourice. Flavour of liqourice, roast, coffee, brown sugar, spice and herbs. Medium to full bodied. Dry. Is roasty and sugary bitter end.

Bottle 50cl. Colour is black, very nice creamy head. For a porter style, there is a remarkable freshness in the nose, but also the charateristic asfalt, tar and dark chocolate notes are present. In the taste there is a very pleasent presence of raspberries/blueberries combined with the bitterness of a high quality porter. This is a very nice beer, which challenges your taste buds

I saved this specially for the rating #200. Very dark brown with a lasting brown head. small laces. Aroma: tar and dark roasted malt is dominating, but also a lot of hops in the aroma. Dark chocolate and coffee also. Taste: Really bitter and spicy. Roasted malt and tar. Dark chocolate in the aftertaste. Reallly iteresting and complex. Maybe a little to bitter but a really good beer.
