4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Slick (1971) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - FEB 14, 2004
Good straw color, small white head that lasted for a decent time and managed to leave a light lace behind. The aroma was malty lemon grass and maybe a faint spice with the taste being sweet and malty with a nice mellow fruit presence of lemon and maybe a mild spice. The alcohol seems to be fairly well hidden, with just the faintest of hints.Hops are there in a mild way.Fairly decent brew in an American way i guess. Thanks go to Love_caissa for sending this brew my way.
3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 stouby (3212) - Holbæk, DENMARK - DEC 28, 2004
UPDATED: JAN 18, 2005 Bottle, at home.
Some taste of malt and hops. The head disappears quickly. The ABV is not felt immediate! Yellow colour? This is not a Christmas beer according to Danish traditions.
3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 odgaard (365) - Skyum, Thisted, DENMARK - DEC 12, 2008
Bottle. Nice yellow color with a big lasting white head. Aroma: Straw, hops, malt and alc. Taste: The sweetness from the malt is balanced well by the bitternes. Medium high carbonation. The high alc gives a warming finish. I like it.

Pours dark golden. Aroma rather skunky, but gets better as the beer warms. A nice bitterness in the flavour.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 highlandlad (1375) - Blue Mountains, AUSTRALIA - JAN 21, 2006
An untypical Christmas beer out of Denmark. Feels a bit like a Duvel clone but without as much character. Intense gold colour with a solid, lasting plug of foam. Surprisingly soft aroma for a 7.9% abv bock. Very light pale malts, a hint of sticky wine and some grassiness. Remiscent of Duvel or perhaps Carlsberg Special Brew. Still, there’s not a great deal going on there. Medium bodied, with quite an oily mouthfeel. Nice soft carbonation. The flavour mix is as subtle as the aroma: sweet and malty, with faint spices, tropical fruit and some peppery bitterness in the finish. Again, very much like Duvel. Very drinkable for its strength but a little short on character. (33cl bottle, trade with Papsoe - thanks Henrik!, bb 23/4/06)
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20 Finn (3090) - Tromsø, NORWAY - DEC 30, 2005
UPDATED: FEB 16, 2009 Bottled. Very bright golden. Almost no head. A pleasant sweet taste and aftertaste. Went well together with cheese. A different Christmas beer. KI=0
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 KnutAlbert (5186) - Oslo, NORWAY - NOV 12, 2007
Aroma like a spiced rice pudding. Dark gold. Lots of spices in an aromatic beer that feels a bit thin given its percentage. Cinnamon, nutmeg, a little warming. This would probably be good with rich Christmas food like pork dishes.
