3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Black with a slightly brown head. Aroma is malt, licorice, chocolate and a little bit of hops. The taste is licorice, coffee, hops and has a bit of a roasty quality as well. Surprisingly bitter and hoppy porter. Dry finish. Definitely not a sessionable porter, but I’m definitely getting this again.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Pours black with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt with a hint of licorice. Taste adds a bit of chocolate and some fruity notes. Starts out sweet but has a roasted, bitter and dry aftertaste. Mouthfeel is medium to full. I’ve had this several times...and is likely have it plenty of more times - it’s not bad for a mass-market porter.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
UPDATED: NOV 13, 2012 0.5 bottle as 6 Porter. Pitch black in color with a big, brown head, looks uncanny. Strong and robust aroma of roasted malts, dark bread and some coffee completed with raisins, yeasts and dark dried fruits. Taste is very palpable as well. It is mildly bitter and more than mildly sweet making it a delicate one for its kind. Medium body, texture is both creamy and thick to an extent, carbonation soft. Finish is mild as the taste itself, medium in length but quite tasty. All in all the beer is very pleasant, however judging by its elaborate and sturdy aroma its character should be different, stronger. Where here, after a solid introduction we are presented with an indecisive taste.
