A flavoursome cider, made potent in the wood! Matured in ex Glenglassaugh casks for six months to nurture the natural characteristics of the cider, this rarefied, medium dry cider develops, as you might anticipate, into a full bodied Scottish Classic.

500ml bottle. Its a nice combo here and good on them for experimenting wiht the local spirits. The slight moky element is a welcome addition to cidre. Don’t think ive ever had one in a whisky cask.

Strong apple, walnut, nougat, and oat nose. That’s right, oat not oak. Clear yellow. Apple and walnut flavor. Soft, smooth mouthfeel, medium body. Wonderful richness and complexity, good balance. Drinks somewhat like applejack, but not boozy at all. Excellent.

330ml bottle. Pours a clear straw gold, with carbonation limited to isolated bubbles. Fresh apple juice, honeyed notes and hints of Scotch and spice make up the aroma. A good level of tartness up front fades gently into sweet apple and honey in the mid-palate, with hints of whisky and spice playing around the edges. The smooth finish has an almost white Burgundy feel to it, and there is a pleasantly oaky aftertaste. This is a little sweeter than most British-style ciders, but tempered by the complexity introduced by the whisky barrels. Very nice.

Cask - Apple and some raw oak. Clear light gold with almost no head. Sweet apple and like oak notes. The sweetness does overpower the other flavours finish., butt is still nice. Quite sweet and long

Bottle, from Tesco, Inverness. Lemon gold, short lived fizzy white head and gentle condition. Gentle woody nose with a background of sweet apple, quite full and sweet in the mouth with a slightly dry appleskin note, a pleasing oakiness with hints of vanilla and some tangy spirits notes, finish is sweet apple and oaky wood with retronasal alcohol lingering.

Bottle from DeliciouslyDifferent, Nethen. Clear yellow colour. Sweet aroma of apples with notes of honey and vanilla. Light sour. A bit too sweet to be refreshing.
