2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle shared with McTapps. Might have a touch of whiskey in it but it does nothing special about that. Thin and bit watery with some apples and sugar. Average.

2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from Scotia Spirit in Cologne. The cider pours out in a clear golden colour with medium to smooth body. Aroma of fresh apples, apple juice and leaves. Taste of sweet apples, natural apple juice, caramel, vanilla and leaves. When you really concentrate, you M A Y taste some fair hints of whisky but it may also be pure goodwill. Expected it better.

500ml bottle. Its a nice combo here and good on them for experimenting wiht the local spirits. The slight moky element is a welcome addition to cidre. Don’t think ive ever had one in a whisky cask.

4.2 AROMA 10/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 18/20
Strong apple, walnut, nougat, and oat nose. That’s right, oat not oak. Clear yellow. Apple and walnut flavor. Soft, smooth mouthfeel, medium body. Wonderful richness and complexity, good balance. Drinks somewhat like applejack, but not boozy at all. Excellent.

4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml bottle. Pours a clear straw gold, with carbonation limited to isolated bubbles. Fresh apple juice, honeyed notes and hints of Scotch and spice make up the aroma. A good level of tartness up front fades gently into sweet apple and honey in the mid-palate, with hints of whisky and spice playing around the edges. The smooth finish has an almost white Burgundy feel to it, and there is a pleasantly oaky aftertaste. This is a little sweeter than most British-style ciders, but tempered by the complexity introduced by the whisky barrels. Very nice.
