A flavoursome cider, made potent in the wood! Matured in ex Glenglassaugh casks for six months to nurture the natural characteristics of the cider, this rarefied, medium dry cider develops, as you might anticipate, into a full bodied Scottish Classic.

Sampled at the Alaskan Barleywine festival. Notes of crisp apple, peat smoke, sweet apple. This is a real treat.

16.9 ounce bottle from Taps, Summerville, SC. Pours a clear pale golden color with lots of visible carbonation but not much of a head. Weak legs. Aroma of very sweet candy-ish apples with some mild wood, vanilla and metallic notes. The taste is apples, wood, vanilla, mild whisky. Medium bodied. It’s a bit of a mess aroma wise, but it’s tasty.

Purchased a bottle from my local growler shop. Pours brilliantly clear, low to moderate carbonation. Slight head that quickly dissipates. Whiskey aroma is detectable in the undertones of the aroma but not overwhelming. Pleasant apple taste but slightly tamer than American ciders. Whiskey notes are pleasant. Was expecting a bit more carbonation but doesn’t detract at all.

Pours pale yellow color with white head. Aromas of apples, whiskey and wood. Sweet apple flavor with whiskey and wood. Light to medium body with average carbonation. Not as enjoyable as the regular version for me.

330ml bottle (Black Door, Helsinki)
Super dry woody aroma, a touch of whisky - nice and subtle and well-integrated. Clear gold. More barrel than apple, but by heck I love it. Sure, tehre’s apple fruit too, but it’s nice and dry. Woody. Super drinkable. Refreshing.

Bottle from The Davis Beer Shoppe. Pours gold with tiny bubbles in the body, and bigger ones on top. Aroma is very strong - but doesn’t seem to be either whiskey or cider. Deep inhale adds some appleskin. It’s a nice overall aroma. Med body. Flavor is very astringent apple with a smooth flavor that must be from the barrels. It’s subtle compared to many things aged in scotch barrels. Finishes fairly dry, astringent, appley, and very lightly hinting of whiskey. Very lightly. Drinks nicely.

Sampled at the 2013 Chicago Cider Summit. Pours a clear pale gold with a white head that starts at the edges and dissipates completely. Aroma has a good amount of whiskey with some sweet apple underlying. Flavor whiskey and cider work well on the tongue with sweet apple up front and a light whiskey note in the finish.
