4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Also at Caponeís Thanksgiving event. Here is the dark side of the banana, if you please. This has lots of tangy, aromatic banana flavor, which blends in nicely with the mellow stout flavors. I look forward to trying more releases from Thomas Creek.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Draft at Caponeís Black Friday event. Poured a pitch black body with an average ense foamy dark beige head. Aroma of rotting bananas, dark chocolate, wet toast, marshmellow, dark fruit skins, dark chocolate cake batter. Medium/full body with full carbonation, a lingering bubbly carbonation and aftertaste. Flavor of rotting banans, roastiness, dark burnt toast, slight dirty coffee and some chocolate. Interesting stuff.

3.6 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
On tap at Capones. Murky black pour with coffee colored creamy head. Aromas and taste are bannana candy, roasty coffee, chocolate, and figgy raisins. Very light carbonation with a soft palate. Interesting brew.

3.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Pours unclear black oil in color with a small burnt caramel head. The sweet delicious aroma of artificial bananas is up front but not much else. The flavors bring the banana in the forefront and then bitter chocolate and dryer ending. Not amazing, but quite nice.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
750 ml bottle
I donít know why I grabbed this but it caught my eye on a beer run. It turned out to not be a terrible release. Maybe in the future I will grab the couple of smaller format bottles that are available as well.
Aroma / Appearance - Traces of carbonation escape from time to time. The base is a reddish brown with little to no head. Chocolate, bananas, whipped cream, and other flavors nail the aroma exactly including a generous heaping of warm syrup.
Flavor / Palate - Melted sundae with an emphasis on bananas, chocolate, and raisins roll across the palate. Cold black coffee aids in the transition to a dry finish. Reminding me a bit of a flat Dr Pepper, the finish is novel and sweet. While not a beer that Iíd drink often (if other breweries attempted it) I think it does shake things up after more normal interpretations.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. moderate toasted and dark chocolate for the malt, faint resin for the hops, light dough for the yeast, with hints of ripe banana (is that possible?) faint sour milk and tobacco. Head is large, frothy, light brown with fair lacing and is mostly diminishing. Color is very dark brown. Flavor starts lightly to moderately sweet and lightly acidic, then finishes lightly sweet and acidic and lightly to moderately bitter.. Palate is medium to full, creamy with a soft carbonation and finishes a little sticky. A bit of a novelty, but this Sweet Stout still works well.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
750 ml caged and corked bottle. Served in a pint glass, the beer pours dark brown/black with a half inch tan head. Head retention and lacing are both decent enough. Aroma is nice but weak, it smells like roasted malt, dried bananas and chocolate. I think the taste is the mostly like the aroma, but luckily the flavors are stronger in comparison. I taste roasted malt, bananas and chocolate, but thereís also some dark fruit noticeable too. However, the banana in this brew wasnít as strong as I was expecting it to be. With that being said, itís still a tasty brew. Mouthfeel/body is medium, itís slick, smooth and goes down easy. Moderate carbonation. Overall I liked this brew. Iím not sure if Iíd buy it again at $12.49 a bottle, but Iím glad I tried it.

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
It poured a brown/black color with an off-white head. The aroma was notes of chocolate, toffee and hints of vanilla. There was a slight hint of banana as well. The taste was slight banana with more chocolate overtones and toffee making a slightly dry stout.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
25.360517 oz. bottle from Bruisiní. Pours dark like a normal stout. Iím pleased to not find an overwhelming sweetness in the aroma. Itís a little tart and metallic with light fruity notes and hints at brownies. The banana becomes more apparent in the flavor, mainly in the finish. Itís never overly sweet and the banana flavor is natural. There are metallic twangs here and there with a dark chocolate type finish. Itís a little rough around the edges, but at least it isnít liquid candy. Different.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
750ml from Samís, Durham. Dark brown pour with a cola-like carbonation that fades fast. Sure enough, big nose of sweet silky lacto and some bananas on top of what seems to be a dry-ish and moderately roasted stout. Nice chalk to the mouthfeel initially, even if itís slightly on the thin side. Flavors could be slightly bolder and more complex, and the beer favors the nose more than the taste. But itís a moderately successful variant.
