Beautiful beginning: smells rich and is black as can be. Unfortunately, the taste is lackluster, resembling a rather generic stout. Palate is creamy, particularly for a single. Bitter chocolaty finish.

Black pour with a small tan head. Aroma of a slight sweet bananna paired with toasted malts. Taste had a lot less of the banana than did the aroma and expectation. Other tastes of chocolate and malt. Over all very good beer but as every other person has said .. not the easiest to get into.

Bottle split amongst friends. Dark pour with a light fluffy head. Not a lot of banana flavor/aroma to speak of. Was hoping there would be a little bit more flavor to this one but it sort of fell short.

ABV 7.5%. Get a bottle and some wire cutters for the cage. You may need three teams of cork removers as well. Dark brown pour with a thin tan head. Sweet scent of banana and vanilla with some roastiness. Taste is chocolate, coffee and banana.

Almost got pliers out to remove the cage on the cork, the cork itself was annoying too. Dark brown beer with a thin, tan head. Aromas of dark coffee, and a small hint of the banana flavors promised. Tastes strongly of dark coffee/chocolate, toffee, and ends on a slight wave of banana flavors. It is a nice touch, but not really all that noticeable. Other than the weak showing of banana flavors, it is still a very tasty stout.

Bottle, courtesy of UncleJedi from TBS Secret Santa - thanks Jim! Pours a dark black, as you’d expect, and smells faintly of the bananas I was promised. More coffee and chocolate in it than banana, I think. Nothing too crazy, but still good.

750mL bottle, caged and corked. Corked with a synthetic cork, the longest I’ve seen and hardest to remove. Black pour, brown head. Aroma of burnt grains. Tastes of charred malts, burnt grain, licorice bitterness. No detection of banana, except for maybe some banana peel bitterness. Sharp lingering roasted bitterness lingers on the palate for a while. Not what I was expecting, perhaps more chocolate, less roast, sweeter and less dry. Oh yeah, and banana.

the most difficult cork ever. near black with ruby highlights and a very small tan head. light coffee and dark chocolate nose. the flavor has lots of chocolate and roasty malts, lesser notes of coffee and booze. mild notes of unripe banana show after it warms but are very hard to pick up before warming. carbonation is on the sharp side for me. medium body.

Color is black, almost flat, headless. The aroma is not too heavy, rum, brandy, and burnt sugar. Slight roasted bananas, caramel. Flavor is mostly caramel and hot fudge, like a lighter version of the Southern Tier Creme Brulee. Really tastes of Banana’s Foster more so than a banana Split. Shared at Curtis’s (Nashville’s Sweetwarer Representative) tasting.
