Crisp and citrusy, this India Pale Ale derives its atypical dark copper brown color from malted chocolate wheat. Heavily hopped, the Chocolate Orange IPA’s bitterness blends with the dark chocolate flavors of the cocoa nibs added during fermentation. Those subtle chocolate notes rest behind a floral bouquet, enhanced by additions of bitter orange peel and dry hopping with Citra.

Long Island, NY - 12 oz. bottle poured a dark burgundy color with a small amount of head and moderate lacing. Aroma was malt heavy with a hoppy foundation. Taste is very much like a normal IPA with citrus hops but aftertaste is if bitter chocolate. Didn't think this brew would work but it's solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

HUGE head on it...can’t even pour! Smell is like a fruity hop smell...a little orangey but more chocolatey...good, not to bitter

Asheville, NC - Brusiin’ Ales - 12 oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown with a nice sticky mocha colored head, Aroma reminds me of a chocolate and orange bakery concoction of some sort. Flavor is interesting with some artificial orange flavor, some chocolate mousse, some licorice accents. Some trailing bitterness in the back end. Mouthfeel has a decent texture to it. Much better than expected.

Pours a hazy golden orange from the bottle with minimal off-white head. Aroma is more towards the orange and hop, taste follows, no real chocolate at all. Nice IPA, but was expecting something a bit more.

Bottle. Bitter orange and chocolate syrup aroma. Brown with small head. Sweet orange-chocolate malt and bitter herbal hay flavor. Not bad.

Bottle: Pours rubied-brown with small, light tan head. Tangy caramel....chocolate, spicy orange aroma. Taste is bready, orange-peel, cocoa. Herbal, tingly hops. Very different....OK, but not exactly what I’d imagined.

A solid ipa with a slight hint of chocolate and orange. Pours almost black in color an is really easy to drink. Slightly hoppy and bitter. Had in myrtle beach. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a brown color with a foamy off-white head - a very unique look for an IPA. Aroma is faintly sweet, of chocolate, caramel, and citrus. The taste begins with a sweet orange in the head, with chocolate and caramel in the body, and some dry bitterness in the finish. Has a medium body feel and some carbonation. Very interesting. I enjoyed this.
