UPDATED: AUG 14, 2012 Paddle @ Mellow Mushroom. Dark frothy pour. Syrupy, sweet aroma balanced with porter like malt. Strong ale-like body with brett tones in a porter? Enjoyed this brew immensely, however. Thomas Creek creates some quality quaffable products. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Slight soy behind the chocolate aroma. Surprisingly vinous. Is this wine barrel aged?

Pours a translucent bkackish red on tap with thing lacy tan head. Aroma is Belgian yeast and dark fruit esters with a hint of roast and smoked malt. Taste is confusing, did not guess porter, was thinking more Belgian strong ale, but nice balance of flavors. Booze is definitely present, but only in the burn on the way down, not in flavor. Light carbonation, a little thin, but very nice.

Growler with Brian. Not a big fan. Does not even remotely taste like I expect a porter to. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a dark brown pour, with a nice java head. Nose is chocolate , roasted coffee and fruity cherry spice. Taste is upfront alcohol, with earthy and woody notes, with fruity spicy notes as well. Finishes on some sweet fruity notes, have to nod to its "atypical" character. Quaff Score 7 / 10

Bottle courtesy of Jan at Craigs doing a Chris O tasting, Edingburgh (ta for the beer Jan) Friday 14th March Pours dark mahogany, if this is barrel aged (it appears to be but I maybe wrong) the aroma has picked up a lot from the barrel, there is chocolate, bit powdery its thick in mouth, oily texture, warming there is a slight nod towards Riga Black Balsam. Good. A7 A4 T7 P4 Ov14 3.6

Bottle at Fastelavn Smagning 2014 @ J&C’s beer palace, Jutland Saturday Session 2 - 01/03/14. Dark mahogony brown with a moderate tan swirl and edgework. Nose is lightly oxidises, tarte berry fruit, light cocoa, musty. Taste comprises dark toffee fudge, light must, earthy cocoa powder, tangy dark berries, lactic tang. Medium + bodiment, fine carbonation, drying close. Ok but seemed a little stale and perhaps a little too much lactic presence.
