3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 Frovigalning (1309) - Örebro, SWEDEN - FEB 6, 2012
Bottle at Bishops Arms in Örebro. It poured an amber liquid with a small white head. Sweet and malty taste and smell with caramel and sugar. Could have a bit more bitterness or less sweetness to balance those two out a bit.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 FROTHINGSLOSH (3200) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - JAN 27, 2012
Basic red ale with nothing in particular to recommend it. +++ Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a bright orange color with a large creamy orange-white head that lingered and left a bit of lacing. The aroma was sour caramel, faint vague fruits and a vegetal malts. The flavor was nutty with faint caramel and faint vague fruits and a bready undertone. The finish was medium length bread and caramel. Medium body. Eh.

Very drinkable. Great with burgers and cookout fare. The aroma is a slightly sweet caramelly toast. the beer is a copper with a slight white head. The taste is clean toasty with a medium floral hop presence. Clean and crisp medium bodied. Great.
4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 ChainGangGuy (3679) - Canton, Georgia, USA - DEC 22, 2011
12 ounce bottle - $1.79 at Olde Crabapple Bottle Shoppe in Alpharetta, Georgia. The label is currently listing the ABV% as being 6.2%.
Appearance: Pours a clear, coppery body the hue of a somewhat used (but abused) penny. Two fingers of slowly settling, whitish froth. Adequate lacing.
Smell: Sweet-scented caramel, though light, paired with even lighter hints of fruit and zestful herbs.
Taste: Lightly bready, caramel edged maltiness with a fair amount of pleasing initial sweetness. Faint, faint nuttiness as the malts roll around the palate for a few sips. Hint of baked spiced apple as the fruitiness comingles with the lightly spicy, scantly herbaceous hops. Low bitterness. Drying, malty finish.
Mouthfeel: Medium-light body. Medium carbonation. Reasonably smooth mouthfeel.
Overall: Good drinkability here, the Red Ale does a fine job at just simply being a Red Ale. Though the label states the beer as being 6.2%, I’d prefer the 5-something listed here on the site, to keep things even more easily drinkable.
2.7 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20 ExpendableHero (511) - Florida, USA - DEC 2, 2011
Deep amber colored beer with a slightly off-white head. Some hoppy aromas mix with smells of biscuit. Tastes very malty, of cereals/grains, and some hints of toffee. Ends slightly hoppy. A bit boring, and ultimately forgettable.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 heemer77 (4752) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - JUL 13, 2011
Bottle. Poured a deep copper red with a long lasting light khaki foam. The nose has lots of cereal with a little hint of apple. There is also some deep toffee. The taste is toasty toffee and sweet potatoes. There is also some raw grain. Smooth. This is decent and kind of like a lot of browns.
3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 bubbleflubber (1203) - Asheville, North Carolina, USA - APR 16, 2011
Poured straight from a 1-day keg, fresh from the brewer’s floor, it taps a dark red-copper hue, with an eggshell head that leaves substantive lace. The nose is of barnyard grains and a slight sourdough note. Flavors are malty, semi-dry, with some metallic notes and peppery hops to finish. Reminiscent of an ESB, the body is medium with lively carbonation, slickly sliding down the palate. A good session brew here, nothing overt or insinuating about it. Decent brew, and a wonderful session with the brewmaster and owner.
