2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Neutral aroma, no real hints of vanilla. Golden hay color. Upon taste you get a hint of vanilla in your nose. Other than that, this beer has mote of an grainy flavor, with a distinct aftertaste.

3.3 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
No real aroma. Appearance is average. Taste is average like any run of the mill ale but with a slight hint of vanilla. Nothing special and very one-note but overall okay and enjoyable.

2.9 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Pours a yellow with a white head and minimal lacing. The aroma is bready while the taste is cake-like. The mouthfeel is medium-light and effervescent. It was an enjoyable beer.

2.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
12 oz. bottle. Pours pale yellow with a small, white head. The aroma is weak piney hops, caramel, and hay. The flavor is faintly bitter, and a little sweet. The palate is light to medium, sticky, and a little astringent. Overall, this is a little heavy for a cream ale, with a forward hop profile, relatively. It is neither refreshing nor strong, and I wouldn’t have noticed the vanilla except for the bottle label. The flavor is unpleasant, and gets worse in the aftertaste. To quote Joe: "I need to drink some milk now."

2.3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tastes a little bit like a bland cream soda. The vanilla comes through and it is definitely a creamy mouthfeel. Not bad, but was hoping for more.

2.4 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Draft at thirsty monk. Pours yellow with a thin white head. Lots of an articificial vanilla on the nose. The vanilla is a lot more subtle on the tongue but the you get this malty, biscuity thing. The finish is way too astringent. It practically strips the acid from your tongue. Not a well balanced beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle. Clear light hay color with no head. Nose is strongly bready, light honey, surprisingly very light vanilla initially in the nose. I sorta thought it might be a sweet vanilla bomb in the nose so im thankful for their apparent restraint. Flavor showcases the vanilla more, again very bready, light bitterness. Fine beer, and good if you like lighter ales that are on the sweeter side.

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Vanilla doesn’t quite mask the the matly, spicy beerness beneath. Nice vanilla flavor but with an odd off aftertaste I couldn’t place. Might have to try another.

2.8 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Originally reviewed: 8/21/09. Poured into my pint glass a pale yellow with a thin white head on top. Little retention and little lacing. Smells of grains and slight vanilla. Hints of grass in there as well.
The mouth is a little thin, but has a nice carbonation bite. This is a pretty mild, basic cream ale. Some grassy notes mixed with a slight vanilla sweetness. Finishes sweet. Not bad. Pretty refreshing, really.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle poured a hazy gold with a lingering ring of white foam. Aromas of bread and light vanilla. Palate was light bodied and crisp with a dry finish. Flavors of cookie, light vanilla and a hint of spice with a crisp dry lingering cookie finish.
