3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled @ de Molen, small sample. Clear reddish brown color, short head. Aroma of sweet caramel malts, bit raisin, hint of oak, quite some high alcohols. Quite sweet in taste, slight bitter, caramel, bit spicy. A bit too much of the high alcohols produced by the yeast makes it a bit of a tough drinker. I prefer more maltiness or hoppiness instead.

Medium sized thick and slowly changing creamy foamy head on top of a ruby red colored beer.
Aromas of butter, caramel, oak, cream, some autumnal herbs, light butterscotch tint, creamy floral, leave and autumnal herbal aromas, some prunes and a sprinkle of brown sugars.
Flavours of cream, bitters, spices, wood, caramel, leaves, marzipan, butterscotch, smooth warmth, oak, prunes, some liquor tones, sweet wood, autumnal herbs, green bitters and some sweet spices. Nice
Aftertaste is a mix of bitters, spices, grass, warmth, malts and some herbal tones.
Low carbo, creamy silky mouthfeel, full body and a creamy light sticky texture.
Quite complex, but also quite typical, though it’s never boring.

Bottle 750 ml, No404/1000 into a snifter. ABV 10%
Dark brown colour on the body, with one finger of thick beige head. Good retention, light lacing left on the glass.
Aroma has chocolate notes, fruity cake, light alcohol.
Taste is fruity, again fruit cake, light alcohol notable but less than expected, some spices or juniper berries.
Medium thin on the body, good carbonation. Sticky palate.
Overall a good one, goes down easily and smootly in spite of the high alcohol.

33cl bottle at home. Clear dark amber/brown with a small to medium off-white head. Medium to full body with moderate carbonation. Heavy sweetness with some bitter notes. Raisin, jenever, warming alcohol, wood and some licorice. A nice complex brew, but a tad too sweet for my taste.

21st December 2013
Hazy deep amber beer, good pale tan head. Palate is smooth and dry. Sweet dry malt. Little spice and sweet esters - bubblegum and candy fruits. Touch of spirity something. Light semi dry finish with a mildly warming afterglow. Not bad at all.
