3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 DocLock (6789) - Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA - APR 28, 2006
Thanks to jjpm74 for this one. The pour is hazy gold with smallish white head. Aroma of pale malt, cereal, some honey, sour fruit, and Razzles gum (there’s a blast from the past for you). The flavor is pale maltym, with some cereally honey, some hops. The palate is on the light side, and the complexity isn’t huge, but this is a cream ale/blonde ale, after all.

Extremely light and creamy, this one doesn’t have a lot going for it but isn’t trash either, despite the low ratings here. Fairly simple, slight hops and slight malt, a light fruit taste that reminded me of grapes. I could really see myself enjoying it on a summer afternoon.
2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 mkgrenwel (466) - Cambridge, Massachusetts, USA - MAR 30, 2006
Boring and bland. Slight hints of hop spiciness and fruitiness. More metallic than anything else. Hardly any malt. The best quality is an actual creamy texture, but this is only up front. Not much else to say about this, just a lame beer.

(12oz bottle) Lightly hazed apple juice body with small off-white head that dissipates rapidly. Aroma is medium sweet, bread/caramel, light icing, pear, dash of vanilla. Taste is medium sweet, bread, seltzer, some cereal/grain. Light-medium body. Very bland.

Pours a one-finger white head that goes quickly leaving no lace. Clear pale amber color. Light-medium carbonation and light bodied. No nose. Starts smooth and sweet, finish is mellow, there are traces of hops. This would be a good summer time beer. $1.85 for a 12oz bottle from Julio’s Liquors Westborough, Ma.

(12 oz bottle: Obtained in trade with goldtwins, thanks Larry!) Okay, so this is not a good looking beer. It pours a light golden color and somewhat hazy, but the head is nothing more than a whitish filmy layer that dissipates fully within 30 seconds. And without any carbonation bubbles rising through the beer, it looks still and lifeless. The aroma is sweet, bready and grainy and just so-so. But the flavor is less than so-so, that sweet, honey, bready graininess is unbroken by any hops or bitterness. The aftertaste is pretty awful, and I’m already sick and tired of drinking this after only five or six ounces. Body is light-medium, and the mouthfeel is tiring and just sits on the palate forever. Not a good beer.

Jax Beer and Wine - Atllanta, Ga - 12 oz bottle. Medium golden pour - absolutely no head. Faint, yeasty aroma with a spicy back end. Flavor is muted with some faint yeasty notes, a bit of a biscuity malty back end but finishes rather dusty. Pretty run of the mill.
2.7 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 OhioDad (2493) - Hilliard, Ohio, USA - SEP 1, 2005
12 oz bottle via trade with IMtheOptimator- Thanks Andrew! - Pours golden with not much head but lots of carbonation bubbles find their way to the top. Aroma is dough with a touch of apple. Flavor is doughy as well with a touch of lemon and just a touch of spice and a little bit of that apple flavor on the finish. Palate is light and quite carbonated. Easy to drink but not memorable at all.

Poured an effervescent golden with a small off-white head. Tried to pour faster to encourage a head to form with no luck. Taste is mildly skunky sour cream. Umm... not too sure about this one. The taste is heavy toffee and bad milk that’s been left out too long. Scary part is that I know this is probably how the beer is supposed to taste. Not fond of this at all.
